DP: does this includes conference banquet?

RN?: wed evening social event, offered to everybody but not built into reg. Fee, but you can elect during the registration process, but it will be subsidized, this approach was very successful last year.

c. Industry sponsorship of breaks?

NG started it, BAE did a lunch sponsorship, we have an exhibit mgr who sells exhibits, making other avenues for sponsorship. Would like GOMACTech to consider this before pursing: options include hotel key cards, lanyards, in addition to food a& coffee breaks.

SK: was debated last year, several obj were raised

GB suggest continuing this tradition

? to RN: are the other conferences govmt sponsored?

RN: power conferences

RD: $?

DP: looks like we are endorsing certain companies

?: preference expressed for avoiding visible sponsorship

DP: suggest sticking to tradition

5. Technical program status (GB, DP)

GB: draft laid out, suggest it be similar to last year’s in layout

GB: we still need at least one more + alternates.

?: first two are excellent choices

GB: will fwd a presentation to the panel, nov02 given in Chicago;

DP: clarification: 1 keynote, 2 Kilby lecturers (plenary)

GB: theme is role of tech in GWOT

John Franco: DTRA works starting in detector arena, making outreach to several universities; will take action in polling their program mgrs and will get back to SC (re: university luminaries for potential invited spkrs)

b. Ideas for prospective keynote speaker, Kilby lecturers

Chris Lesniak: submitted for a session looking at modules and highly compacted mmics, etc. all the things that go into an array that would address power, cost, weight, etc. several papers from Lockheed,et al.

GB: recommend he proceeed. Action: CL will proceed in planning for C-SWAP session

GB: had some correspondence with NG on passive component electronics

Fritz Kub: in the past its been generally switching, discussion of passive components has been broached; may have further opportunity.

GB: any more proposals at this time?

John Franco: 2 areas rad hard nanotechnology and supporting technologies

JF: just send it to you ? Action: JF to send Session Info Forms for “Rad Hard Nanotechnology” and “Nanotechnology:Supporting Technologies”

Joe Brewer: sugg. another nanotech session, variant of previous nano wrok; focus would be on architectures for the technologies;

GB: ok pls submit topic: Action: JB to send Session Info Forms for “Architectures for Nanotechnology”

JF: another suggestion:nuclear detection at longer range; ramping up a significant program; would bring in DHS on this too. Action?: JF submit Session Info Form for “Nuclear Detection at LongerRange”

GB: Sonny? Reprise on Trusted Foundry?

SM: Action: Dean Collins will pursue session on Trusted Foundry, probably as session chair

DP: RPrice maybe take a wack

DP: emphasize these are not approval forms

RdelR: Prognostics & Diagnostics

Chris Hicks: high eff linearity amps been talking with paul Mackie,

Joe Brewer: microelectronics security assurance; polices needed … <pecht & tamper>

DP: sounds like the

Dan Radack: might be able to help with any DARPA related items

DP: relayed Trustedness topic.

Dan Radack: high performance electronics, SiGe, LDMOS, etc.; session on advanced packaging technologies/heterogeneous integration; e.g. wafer level mems work; wafer level packaging, robustness without hermeticity

Mark Gouker: ref to microwave symp; radar for societal applications? past mm-wave imaging approaches have been limited active imaging or radar approach instead; still early in discussion.

DP: will connect to speaker

Fritz Kub: throught the wall radar, GPEN radar

DP: suggest FK MG work together

Brian Cohen: IED defeat?

DP: memo already out on limiting data discussion

Brian Cohen: ongoing work at IDA , they may

DP: can you work with Binari on that?

MR: concur. Action: Mark Rosker/Steve Binari: submit Session Info form for wide BG and high freq devices

DP: ACTION: any other topics pls send to GB

c. Tutorial topics

Joe Brewer: discussion with Purdue have facility for helping researchers in nano ; “Nanotechnology and the Nanoproblem” and actually during the session link your laptops.

DP: can you fill out a form and submit?

JB: concur. Action: JB: Submit Tutorial Proposal Form for “Nanotechnology and the Nanoproblem”

d. Poster session?

DB: haven’t had a poster session for a while. It will not be a repository for substd papers but will serve as an overflow session. Won’t know until we receive the m on #

GB: will proceed then
