God’s Beautiful Sanctuary
Exodus25-27, 30-31, 35-36, 39:32-40
Opening:John on Patmos, given vision of Sanctuary in Heaven.

Rev. 8:3 Altar of Incense
John on Patmos saw it “And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.” Rev. 11:19
Paul said Moses made the sanctuary as small model of the one in heaven. Hebrews 8:1-2 “true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man”

Second Apartment (Ark of Covenant – Ten Commandments, Aaron’s rod, pot of manna, mercy seat, reverent Cheribum)
-once per year, day of Atonement, cleansing of Sanctuary
-Entire nation searched their soul, make sure all sins confessed and repented of.
-into sanctuary two goats.
-1 goat Lord’s, 1 goat Scapegoat, draw lots
-Lord’s goat killed (sin offering)
-High Priest - Blood taken inside sanctuary sprinkled on Mercy seat. Above ten commandments.
-High Priest then come back and place hands on the head of the scape goat. Confess sins of nation on it.
-Goat taken by a fit man far away in the wilderness to die.
-Not until the goat was sent away did the people feel freed from the burden of their sins.
-All the while this work of atonement going forward business was laid aside, solemn searching of heart, humiliation before God, fasting, with prayer.
What does the Sanctuary show us about what Jesus is doing?
-Heb. 9:24Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, [which are] the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.
-After Jesus went to heaven His ministry as our High Priest in Heaven started. His ministry would be divided into two portions. Symbolized by Daily work that the priests did and by the special work on the Day of atonement.
-JESUS pleads His blood in behalf of the humble & repentant believers
-We are freed from the condemnation of the law, and the penalty of sin, but there are still records of sins in the books of heaven.
-The second part of the Sanctuary service that occurred 1 per year represents the Closing Work of Jesus at end of time.
-Jesus is going through the books investigating who really loved him and who loveth him not. Those who really loved him, repented of their sins, have their sins blotted out of the books, those who don’t repent names will be blotted out.
-According to a prophecy given to Daniel several thousand years ago, this closing work of Christ as our High Priest started a little more than 150 years ago. 1844
-“A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.” Daniel 7:10
-“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” Rev. 20:12
How does Jesus determine if we really love Him?
-“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.” 1 John 5:3
Some people don’t believe that God investigates before He judges but what does the Bible show:
-“Garden of Eden” Genesis 3:9-19
-“Tower of Babel” Genesis 5:11-9
-“Sodom and Gomorrah” Genesis 18:20-22, 19
When Jesus returns all cases will be decided.
- “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” Rev. 22:11-14
Investigation is going on now - Lets obey God, be reverent, ask Him to cleanse us and make us holy, help us to not follow a multitude to do evil. Be ready to see Jesus come in clouds and in flaming fire.
-“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” Rev. 3:11
Some day soon. This will come to an end – earth cleansed with fire –Satan left in wilderness for 1000 years and then perish by fire.
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” Mt. 25:41
