JOB TITLE:Fundraiser (Events and Community Engagement)

LOCATION:Gloucestershire Young Carers (GYC)Offices, Twigworth

GRADE:ScaleH, (28 – 31)Starting salary: £24,717 pro rata

HOURS:24 hours/week

One year rolling contract dependent on target achievement

1. Job Purpose

  • To contribute to the overall delivery of Gloucestershire Young Carers’ fundraising strategy and target.
  • To take particular responsibility for the delivery and project management of a programme of events aimed at making a substantial contribution towards Gloucestershire Young Carers’ overall fundraising target, and raising the profile of the organisation.

2.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational

  • Contribute to the overall delivery of GYC’s Fundraising Strategy, undertaking presentations, meetings and support to the Fundraising and Marketing Manager as required.
  • Meet the event fundraising target by: implementing and managing a series of existing events in conjunction with the Fundraising and Marketing Manager; developing new and imaginative fundraising events, both low key and prestigious.
  • Ensure that events are planned and delivered and all operational aspects are covered whilst maximising income.
  • Working with the Volunteer Coordinator and Fundraising and Marketing Manager, develop a pool of volunteers to assist with fundraising events.
  • Oversee volunteer engagement and involvement at fundraising events.
  • Working closely with the Fundraising and Marketing Manager, ensure that event participation is optimised. This will include recruiting event participants from your own networks, as well as through excellent relationship building with GYC existing and new supporters.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to event participants, supporters, donors and volunteers ensuring enquiries are responded to quickly and efficiently.
  • Build excellent collaborative relationships with colleagues from across the organisation in support of fundraising initiatives to maximise income.
  • In collaboration with the Fundraising and Marketing Manager, develop and deliver compelling presentations to recruit new supporters and donors.

Quality

  • Accurately record engagement with event participants, supporters and volunteers.
  • Undertake timely reporting as requested by senior management and the Board of Trustees.

Financial

  • Working closely with the Fundraising and Marketing Manger, develop sponsorship opportunities and partnerships in support of delivering events and maximising income generated.
  • Ensure all events are delivered in as cost effective manner as possible to maximise income generated.
  • Plan and monitor expenditure and income budgets related to each event.

General

  • To represent GYC in a manner consistent with the highest professional standards in compliance with GYC’s policies.
  • To undertake other duties which would reasonably fall within the remit of this post.

5.ACCOUNTABILITY

Responsible to the Fundraising and Marketing Manager for day to day supervision.

Line management will be provided by Operations Manager.

Responsible for providing fundraising reports to senior management and Board of Trustees as required.

7.SPECIAL CONDITIONS

To have the means to travel to work locations outside the normal work basein a timely manner.

Flexible working hours involving evenings and weekends.
