Dear Ms. Bruner:
On behalf of Rho Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and The PEARL Foundation, Inc., I would like to thank you and the Harrison High School IT Troupe 4996 for your donation of playground equipment and art supplies to the Motivation, Dedication and Excellence (MDE) School. Rho Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in collaboration with The PEARL Foundation, Inc. (the philanthropic arm of Rho Zeta Omega) is in the process of restoring, refreshing and renewing playgrounds in Cobb County Georgia. We selected the MDESchool, located at 1517 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, Georgia, to participate in this project. As part of the Environmental Ownership Target Initiative, we are restoring playgrounds in the Cobb County area to help ensure that children have safe and inviting places to play. The PEARL Foundation Inc. partnered with Home Depot for this restoration project.
The MDE School was selected because it specializes in providing a loving and nurturing learning environment for children with autism, sensory processing, and communication disorders. According to the National Autism Association, autism now affects 1 in 68 children. Although autism has the fastest growing developmental disorder rate, it is one of the most underfunded for support services. The PEARL Foundation, Inc. would like to help support the mission of the MDE School. It is important to note that the school relies on volunteers for many of its projects, including the playground.
To celebrate our restoration efforts we will host a ribbon cutting ceremony with the students and families of the MDE School on May 16, 2015. Gifts from the school’s wish list will be presented to the students during the ribbon cutting ceremony. I will be sure to mention the generous donation from the ITTroupe 4996.
The PEARL Foundation Inc. could not fund our community service programs without the generosity of organizations such as yours. You have truly demonstrated your commitment to reshaping the lives of the residents in the Cobb County community.
Sincerely,
President
