1) Objective

FHI 360’s Global Education Post-Primary Team (“Team”) is searching for qualified applicants to be entered into our Consultant Database. This Database will be utilized as a resource for upcoming Consultant roles for FHI 360 programs related to middle grades through higher education that are in our portfolio of Spanish-Speaking and English-Speaking programs.

The Team needs consultants to support project work in the following areas:

  1. Curriculum design and development for K-12 literacy, and community college level degree programs in agribusiness, tourism, creative industries, health, etc. General activities include:
  • Update existing curriculum and/or develop new curriculum
  • Develop curriculum maps outlining general objectives, scope and sequence, learning materials, and learning modules.
  • Write content for curriculum modules, lesson plans, and other materials as needed.
  • Review and provide feedback on curriculum developed by teams in Central America.
  1. Teacher professional development and teacher training in student-centered pedagogy and social-emotional development (both K-12 and higher education). General activities include:
  • Design teacher professional development activities, including in-service trainings for subject specific areas, including mathematics, science, and language.
  • Facilitate workshops and teacher training sessions.
  1. School-to-work transition strengthening for secondary schools, technical and higher education institutions.
  • Advise schools and universities on providing labor bridging activities for students
  • Develop modules related to the job search and workforce readiness skills

2) Required Skills and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in relevant field

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in education systems of Latin America and/or Caribbean on curriculum design/development, teacher training, and/or school-to-work transition strengthening

Skills and Knowledge

  • Written and oral fluency in Spanish
  • In-depth knowledge of the education policy and program environment in Latin America and/or Caribbean, Africa
  • Excellent written communication skills, including ability to write effectively for a range of audiences and purposes. This includes the ability to make technical information accessible to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Initiative and ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite
