GFWC Membership-The Real Deal

“Women's History Month is an annual declared month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society.” GFWC is using Women’s History Month as a platform to share our nearly 127-year-history of volunteer service. Your state or club can do the same.

To State Federations and Clubs: Celebrate Women’s History Month, by looking within your state federation history or club history to

highlight the contributions of women to

events that have occurred in your state or club. Acknowledge a past president’s special project or a program/idea that a member introduced to the club. How about recognizing a chairman who organized an outstanding project that brought recognition to your club? Don’t overlook the opportunity to recognize a group or committee that succeeded in surpassing a project goal.

When and Where? Consider some of the following suggestions: submit a post on your Club’s Facebook page or send an email to your club’s distribution list. You may decide to do this daily, every other day, or weekly. You may also print your article in your monthly newsletter and continue this recognition for each future newsletter. Of course, don’t forget the opportunity to celebrate Women’s History month at your club, district and state

meetings.
