Georgetown ISD Elementary Students OnlyRecommended for GT Students

EPIC! – Camp Invention 2018 is a week-long summer enrichment camp for GISD elementary students that partners with GISD to reinforce the traditional school year with science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) events through multiple inquiry-based, hands-on activities. In Camp Invention children gear up and design zip lines, water flumes and hi-tech eco-gear to develop the latest and greatest tourist attraction Epic Park! Participants will also repower the motors, gears, lights, fans and components found in broken machines to make their own innovations!

Additionally, campers will make their very own robotic cricket powered by the sun! They will create cricket-inspired inventions that can outsmart motorized spider predators and explore the science of sound by investigating how crickets chirp. All of this will come together as they are challenged to a Chirp-Off, where they play their musical instrument inventions, in the end of the week showcase ceremony!
