Job Summary
To initiate and develop portfolio of strong corporate partnerships, maximising all the potential entry points available to DEBRA, such as sporting and challenge events, existing supporters and their networks, sponsorship and major events, in order to achieve the income targets set for this stream of fundraising.
Key Responsibilities
  • Generate income from the corporate sector.
  • Work with the Director of Fundraising and Communication to agree and deliver income in accordance with the annual budget, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Report on progress against budget to the Director of Fundraising and Communication on a monthly basis.
  • Work with the Major Partnerships Team and the wider Fundraising Team to identify corporate leads.
  • Workwith the DEBRA Marketing & Communications Team to develop creative and effectivemarketing material to ensure that all DEBRA applications, proposals and pitches have the greatest probability of success.
  • Ensure that DEBRA’s database (Progress) is used both as a prospect management tool and to record communications and activities.
  • Work with the wider Fundraising Team to identify opportunities to grow income from the corporate sector across all areas of fundraising such as sponsorship for events, gifts in kind, etc.
  • Identify and pursue networking opportunities to grow the number of corporate leads.

Person Specification

Essential

  • A minimum of five years’ experience gained within a sales or marketing environment;
  • Highly developed communication (verbal and written) skills in order to secure introductions, deliver presentations and pitches, which will lead to income generation;
  • Sound commercial awareness and a good knowledge of the corporate environment.

Desirable

  • Experience: Two years’ experience of working within the corporate fundraising arena with proven ability to drive new business;
  • Education: Educated to degree level or equivalent;
  • Adaptability: Adopts a flexible and adaptableapproach to work, working quickly and effectively in a fast moving environment;
  • Functional Expertise: Displays a high level of functional expertise and constantly updates knowledge to ensure expertise remains relevant;
  • Team Working: Works cooperatively and effectively with others in a team to achieve shared objectives;
  • Commercial Focus: Demonstrates understanding of overall business and commercial issues facing the charity and uses this knowledge to improve results;
  • Managing Networks: Creates and develops the effective relationships needed to achieve business results;
  • Motivation and Drive: Sets challenging personal goals and demonstrates personal energy, drive and determination to achieve them even in the face of pressure or obstacles.
