This programme offers an introduction to management skills and is externally accredited by the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM). It is highly participative and there is a strong emphasis on applying new learning to your work situation for the benefit of your team and your department.
The course is primarily aimed at those who currently have responsibilities for others(including managers, team leaders or supervisors) and have the opportunity to meet the assessment requirements. The assessment requirements are specified by the ILM – please see further details online with the course description. Subject to availability, a limited number of places may be available for those aspiring to these positions, who also have the opportunity to meet the assessment requirements.

Assessment for this Award is by the production of three written pieces of work, including one that requires you to identify a work-based problem and solve it using techniques covered during the programme (you will need the authority to investigatethe problem and implement a chosen solution). Further assessment details are on the online course description. You will also need to complete the Equality and Diversity Essentials online module in your own time (approx. 1 hour).
