ATTRIBUTES / ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE
WORK EXPERIENCE
AND/OR
KNOWLEDGE / Two years experience of management and strategic leadership in an
organisation.
Experience and understanding of creating and monitoring financial management and audited accounts including Charity SORP.
Experience in developing and implementing a Business Plan.
Experience of managing funds from the charitable and private sectors.
Experience within the arts.
Experience of the operational management of a theatre or similar public venue.
Experience of dealing with public funding bodies, including managing the relationship, submitting bids, monitoring and evaluation.
Experience of managing employees.
An understanding of legislation pertaining to arts organisations including but not limited to: charity and company law, the Disability Discrimination Act, Health & Safety and Licensing. / Knowledge of arts policy and funding structures.
Knowledge of appropriate central and local government policies and initiatives.
Experience of capital development.

SKILLS

/ Financial management and budgeting.
Ability to express thoughts clearly and concisely.
Personnel skills - interviewing, appraisals, support and supervision.
Ability to advocate the interests of the organisation to a wide range of contacts and agencies.
Computer skills: Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, Outlook) & Financial Packages / Public presentation skills.
Experience of working with and reporting to a Board of Directors and sub-committees.
SAGE accounting system.
