A Guide for Lead Evaluators for the Fire Officer-Strategy and Tactics Certification Practical Skills Examination

Students must complete four out of the six simulations found through the National Fire Academy (NFA) Online Simulation program. The Lead Instructor will designate which simulation each student will complete. All simulation instructions and forms are included in the simulation program. Students must present the Lead Evaluator with proof of completion and copies of the worksheets for each simulation.

NOTE: STUDENTS, WHO FAIL to present proof of simulation completion and completed worksheet, will not be allowED to SIT FOR the written ExamINATION for this CERTIFICATION.

copies of completed worksheets must be retained in students PERSONAL training records AND AT THEIR LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT. The worksheets are part of the online simulation programs.

Course information

Students will have to enroll onto the NFA online program. Simulation completion certificates are not issued after they complete the simulation and comment sheet. Students will have to print out their learning history report under the reports page. The report page is part of the NFA online training program.

Please indicate in either the Pass/Fail column the date of the examination and their status. A person is only allowed to take a practical skill examination three times. If the individual fails one of the stations it must be repeated after coaching/instruction by someone other than the evaluator. The evaluator is not allowed to give feedback to the student on what portion of the material they did not successfully complete.
