2007 FBL Girls League
General Guidelines & Regulations
- The Inaugural Season of the FBL Girls League is open to 3 divisions: 11 to 13, 14 to 16 and 17 to 21 years old.
- All teams must be in complete uniform. Light and Dark sets are recommended, but not required. Reversible jerseys and shorts are allowed. Uniforms from other leagues are also allowed.
- Maximum of 18 listed players per team, but only 15 can play in any given game. Minimum of 5 players to start the game. Coaches have the discretion of how and when to use their players throughout the game.
- The grace period from the scheduled time of the game is 10 minutes. After this, any team with less than 5 players will automatically lose the game via default. If a team starts with only 5 players and one of its players foul out or gets injured within the quarter (or for the rest of the game), the team shall play 4 vs 5, 3 vs 5 or 2 vs 5 the rest of the way. 1 vs 5 is not allowed, the team with only 1 remaining player will automatically lose the game by thirty points (0-30), regardless of the score.
- Teams at the Left side of the schedule will wear Light uniforms. Teams at the Right side of the schedule will wear Dark uniforms. This is to be followed unless otherwise stated by the game officials.
- Any team found to have fielded in any over aged player automatically forfeits all the games in which the said player participated in. The burden of proof shall rest on complainants.
- Unless specified, all games are to be played at the Xavier School RCSC, Greenhills, San Juanduring Sundays from April 15 to May 27, 2007. However, in observance of the May 14 local elections, there will be no games on May 13.
- There is 1 (one) timeout for each of the first 3 quarters. There are 2 (two) timeouts for the 4th quarter. Timeouts from the 1st half may not be carried over to the 2nd half. Timeouts from the 3rd quarter may be carried over to the 4th quarter.
- The first half is running time; while the second half is stop time.
- Please behave properly on and off the court. Remember, we are supposed to foster camaraderie among the FBL community. Let us avoid any untoward, immature gestures and/or trash-talking/provocation, as these are unbecoming of a true athlete. Participants
can play tough, but do not play rough.The coaches and team captains shall be strictly
responsible for the overall conduct of their respective teams on and off the basketball
court. Irresponsible demeanor will not be tolerated. Everybody is expected to follow
XavierSchool and FBL rules and regulations.The Organizing Committee can have any
player and/or team expelled from the rest of the tournament, upon a thorough and
objective due process. Any free-for-alls and/or bench-clearing incidents shall
automatically merit suspensions/expulsions for the rest of the tournament. Anybody with
deadly weapon/s shall be reported and escorted to the police. The coach/player/team
member will likewise face a lifetime ban from the league.
- Any team member who receives two technical fouls will be ejected from the game and must leave the gym. She is also suspended from playing in their next game. Moreover, if any member has 2 game ejections for technical fouls (flagrant fouls, unsportsmanlike conduct against anybody, including but not confined to equipment and school facilities (locker rooms, parking area), that member will be suspended for the rest of the season. Any member involved in fighting and/or any provocation, through words, deeds, actions, sarcastic remarks, cursing, shouting, unsportsmanlike-gestures, profanities, including threats, both direct and indirect to any other participant/s (school officials, players, faculty, referees, school staff/crew, school security guards, coaches, organizers, spectators, parents), the organizers and/or the referees have the option of having the game stopped immediately and forfeited. The involved team/s shall be subsequently suspended for the rest of the season. Shouting, jeering, trash-talking and/or distracting from the bench towards opponents taking free throws is also prohibited.
- Conduct-related technical fouls are continuously counted throughout the duration of the league. The violations are carried over from game to game. Any player/team member ejected twice shall be suspended for the rest of the tournament.
- The respective coaches and captains have the responsibility of notifying all team members of the day/date/time of all their scheduled games. Forfeits and defaults must be avoided as these are detrimental to the tournament’s participants. Any team not in the venue and ready to play during their specified game time and after the 10-minute grace period will automatically lose the game by the score of 0-30. Any team which forfeits twice will automatically be dropped from the league, regardless of their remaining games.
- Only those listed in the submitted official team rosters are allowed to sit on the team bench. Other team supporters are to sit at the opposite side of the team’s benches (opposite sideline). They are also not allowed to sit under the goals (by the baseline). This is for the safety of the players and supporters as well.
- Only natural calamities and/or unexpected rallies will postpone scheduled games. All announcements will come from the FBL Organizing Committee.
- It is understood that each and every participant is healthy and cleared to engage in competitive basketball. FBL management and organizers shall not be held responsible for any untoward incident which may occur beyond its control. Participation in the said tournament is voluntary and geared towards the growth and development of Philippine basketball. FBL management and organizers have the option of prematurely stopping the league, at any time, when it deems it may be illogical, irrational and unsafe to pursue this project.
- Any kind of protests, including, but not confined to videos and pictures; shall not be entertained. The referees’ and organizers’ decisions are final. Unless otherwise specified, FIBA rules are enforced.
