GENERAL FUND 2017-2017 BUDGET ASSUMPTIONS
1. Cemetery
A. Re-measure entire cemetery – Many of the corner markers are missing – they are a medal medallion with a number stamped in it and anchored in concrete about 4-5 inch diameter. These small markers disappear into ground when it rains and then the grass grows over them- Mowing further pushes them into ground
1. We need a new system to identify the corners of each block and clearly show where each space is located. We have many people just put in the ground wherever.
B. We have many unmarked graves and most have no family contact info. – So will need to have ground- penetrating radar done so we know exactly where people are buried…
C. In addition and related to unmarked graves with no family - ---we have many spaces that are not used—(see the work I have already done on cemetery books) – we need to institute a fee for burial – since many of those people that paid nothing or next to nothing for up to 12 spaces (1 block) think they can bury who they want where they want without cost.
D. Increase in space fees and perpetual care.
1.Currently we charge $300 per space and $300 for perp care.
Will check around for local prices on cemetery fees before budget time. – JP

- Workers Comp – Paid & Volunteer Fire Dept 10% Increase & Police Dept 5% Increase – Surviving Spouse will get comp, even if remarried. For FD, any cancer will be paid by comp.
- Liability – Errors & Omissions down 5%; Auto Liability up 5.9% as a whole
- Property 10% Increase
