MAISA Career & College Readiness Standards Curriculum Project 10:30
· Phase 2 Updates
· Pilots/Reviews/Reimbursements
· Updates from the ELA and Math Curriculum Leadership Teams
· Copyright issues
· Transition plans and discussion
· Other work: using existing work
· Invoice form for reviews/pilots / Information/Discussion
ELA Discussion: Little feedback has been received for Unit 1. Concerns shared included: confusion regarding the location of the units, MEAP window, information dissemination. The idea regarding a short Camtasia video with instructions for accessing the units was shared.
Naming Convention: ELA has worked on naming convention. The subject was discussed with no decision made. MC3 format was suggested.
Mathematics: One unit format intentional. Segments of letter composed by MLT were read.
Prefaced with background thinking – math is so program driven, ELA has not been program driven. What about the districts not using an NSF program? Teams show alignment between current district programs and units. What about current student achievement results in districts that are using NSF programs? With the new cut scores do these programs hold up?
SBAC: Math assessment framework on SBAC demands reasoning. NSF program developers are meeting with SBAC personnel; not the publishers. In the next couple of years different math programs will be published related to SBAC
Communication Plan: Short updates with specific subject lines were suggested. Reduces chance that it will get lost in the numerous e-mails that are received.
Unit Review: MAISA funding to support – up to $1500/ISD to convene teams of teachers to do this work. Passed out invoice form to use for such work. Sign in sheets. Agendas. Timelines. Feedback requested.
Leadership Team Committee: Members list sent around for on site attendees
Transition Plans: Participants shared various transition plans for moving districts to CCRS.

It’s important that we have the support of our superintendents as decisions are made and we’re discussing processes.
Responsibilities of this committee/network:
Address ISD, LEA and consortium level
a) Participates – each ISD should be represented to have
an opportunity to have a voice at the table
consistent participant – so they know what’s been going on from meeting to meeting
decision maker from the ISD
b) Each member is responsible to share information at your own ISD as appropriate and with LEA leadership
c) Share with your ISD superintendent so he/she is knowledgeable when attending MAISA meetings
