______Division Strategic Initiatives

Divisions may have alternative means of writing their strategic initiatives. This is a sample form only. However, please ensure that if another model is used any requests for GC support/action and information on major expectations of change are clearly highlighted. These forms should be submitted annually.

Part I: Please complete the following form, using the General Conference Strategic Initiatives document and sample below as models. Suggestion: Do not include more than five major initiatives, and five action plans in each area. Please note the last line in each section of the form, asking for requests for GC action. This is NOT in the General Conference Strategic Initiatives document but should be completed.

Sample Initiative:

Strategic Initiative ___: To raise the faith base of the teaching in all higher education institutions
Evidence of Need: 50% of all new teachers hired in last 3 years are non-SDA, and 25% are new SDAs
75% of all employed teachers have had no SDA education training themselves
Only 65% of students in the division come from SDA homes

Under the changes section identify expected major additions to programs, upgrading, change of status (e.g. college to university), move from authorized to accredited status, planned introduction of new institutions. Under the approval section please identify the present status of these expected changes and plans for approval (i.e. at what level has the project already been approved, giving dates, and what is the projected plan for approval).
