Strategic purpose statement / This qualification is designed to provide the infrastructure industry with capable asset managers with the knowledge and skills to manage the infrastructure assets of asset owners, in the public and private sectors, in accordance with good asset management practice.
This qualification is suitable for people employed in organisations who manage infrastructure.
Graduates will be able to demonstrate leadership and self-management along with indepth technical and theoretical knowledge required to manage infrastructure.
Outcome Statement / Graduate profile / Graduates of this qualification will be able to:
·  Apply the essential components of good asset management practice in the infrastructure industry
·  Prepare, implement and review an infrastructure asset management plan for an organisation

Qualification award / This qualification will be awarded by an organisation which has an approved programme, or industry training programme leading to the qualification.
Evidence requirements for assuring consistency / Evidence may include:
·  Internal and external moderation processes and results relating to the assessment of graduate outcomes
·  Feedback and actions taken by the Tertiary Education Organisation in response to feedback
·  Programme completion data and course results
·  Post-graduate surveys (which must include survey of graduates and employers)
·  Any other relevant evidence

Other requirements for the qualification (including regulatory body or legislative requirements) / It is recommended that those entering this qualification possess the knowledge and skills required to work in; or are currently working in the infrastructure asset management sector and have high levels of oral, written and inter-personal communications and mathematical skills.

General conditions for programme / BS ISO 55000 Series Asset Management: overview, principles and terminology (2013) should be applied to the programme.
Programmes should refer to the International Infrastructure Management Manual (2015), International Edition.

Transition information

Replacement information / This qualification replaced the National Diploma in Infrastructure Asset Management [Ref: 0761].
Candidates currently working towards the replaced qualification may choose to complete that qualification by 31 December 2018 or transfer to the replacement New Zealand qualification.
The last date for entry into programmes leading to the replaced qualification is 31 December 2016.
The last date for assessment against the replaced qualification is 31 December 2018.
It is the intention of the Infrastructure ITO that no existing trainee should be disadvantaged by these transition arrangements. Any person who considers they have been disadvantaged may appeal to the qualification developer – Infrastructure ITO (Connexis) at or 04 499 9144.
