on Saturday 29th May 2010, in the Conference Room,

NHS Grampian wishes to involve gender interest groups, individuals with an interest in gender equality and the wider general public in Grampian, in assessing the progress they have made to date, to achieve the objectives set out in the NHS Grampian Gender Equality Scheme 2007-2010. We also wish to actively involve people in setting the priorities for the new NHS Grampian Gender Equality Scheme 2010-2013, hence we are holding two Seminars. The first Seminar is 10.30am to 12.30noon, and is then repeated at 2pm to 4pm, on Saturday 29th May 2010. Further Seminars will be arranged, if required.

The Conference Room is a wheelchair accessible venue. Refreshments will be provided at the end of each Seminar, travelling and other expenses will also be met. Communication support can be provided, if required.

The topics covered will be:

·  Gender based abuse and domestic violence

·  The differential uptake in health care between men and women

·  Expanding the range of gender dysphoria services in Grampian

·  Meeting the health care needs of our local LGBT communities

·  Meeting the health care needs of people who have been raped or sexually abused

·  Training to help NHS Grampian staff to be sensitive to the gender related needs of patients

·  Gender equality monitoring within NHS Grampian

·  Equality and Diversity Impact Assessment

·  Any other gender related topics

The format will be a combination of questionnaire, followed by structured group discussions, with time allowed for networking.

The venue can accommodate up to 60 people. If you wish to participate please complete the attached Registration Form.
