Vision/Purpose of Advisement Programs
The purpose of advisement programs is to build meaningful connections between adults and student resulting in improved student academic achievement.

ESOL/SPED students should be mainstreamed, when possible.
Maxwell and Grayson Technical HS will incorporate this county program to insure all students are provided advisement otherwise missed at their local school.
Phoenix HS will submit an individualized advisement plan to meet the needs of their student population.
Advisors will prioritize the needs of advisees and make a personal contact with them
between advisement sessions. All advisees should be contacted at some point, based on need. Advisors will keep a log of contacts.

An optimal advisement program would include student led, portfolio based parent/student/advisor conferences at least one time per year.
An administrative task force developed an instructional calendar to ensure continuity throughout Gwinnett high school advisement programs.
