GCCF ONCE AGAIN SHOWCASING OUR BREEDS IN THE

WORLD OF CATS

AT THE NATIONAL PET SHOW - 6TH & 7TH May 2017 Excel London

INFORMATION SHEET 1 (Please keep for reference)

All GCCF Member Clubs and GCCF cat owners are invited to take an 8’ Club/Breed Information area in the World of Cats at the National Pet Show that includes 4' of penning to exhibit cat(s). There is no charge for your information area or the exhibition pens. There will also be 2 free exhibitor passes and a chair for club officials (but it is worth bringing a folding chair too). Clubs may book space for the two days of the show or elect to attend on either the Saturday or the Sunday. However, space is limited, so please book early!

The National Pet Show provides a golden opportunity to inform the general public about your breed, so please bring information leaflets highlighting why your breed is THE BEST and links to your club/breeders. You can help people to choose the right breed of cat for their personality and lifestyle. This is your ideal chance to educate the public, promote cats as ideal pets, publicise your club, your breed and the GCCF at a prestigious event which attracts thousands of visitors over the two days. As the entry fee to the public includes all features in the Pet Show (apart from commercial stalls paying for their space), clubs/cat owners in the World of Cats are NOT ABLE TO SELL ANYTHING ON THE DAY. The penning/exhibition area will be draped and covered with paper but you will need to provide bedding, water, litter, food etc and a harness for your cat when out on the table. Excellent hand disinfectant for you and the public is included.

EXHIBITION PENS:

Clubs/owners exhibiting their breeds are allowed ONE double pen (which could contain up to 2 cats or 3 kittens from the same household). There will be special Entry Forms for the cats on exhibition and an Exhibitors' List produced. It must be realised that the 13 day rule will apply to all GCCF registered cats. You will not be able to show cats from the same household across both days. All exhibits must have a current vaccination certificate and will be vetted-in as at a normal show or seminar. PLEASE NOTE THE PET SHOW WILL CLASH WITH SOME GCCF SHOWS SO REMEMBER THE 13 DAY RULE APPLIES.

HOUSEHOLD PETS:

We welcome Household Pets, both non-pedigree and pedigree, to demonstrate to the public that ALL cats are gorgeous and ALL can compete in GCCF shows to win the highest titles. We will be holding our GCCF Championship Household Pet Show on both days to show the public what a great hobby showing cats can be. (MORE INFO. LATER)

SETTING UP:

The show will be open to the public from 9.30am until 5.00pm each day, you are not allowed to start packing up until the announcement is made that the show is closed. Vetting-in will take place from 8am, giving owners time to settle their cats and sort their space before the public arrives. You will be given the entrance for the cats and from there you will be directed to Vetting-In and your space. A trolley for your equipment would be very useful. Equipment can be unloaded prior to parking and there are facilities for disabled exhibitors. A map showing placements will be posted out to those participating before the show. Exhibitor passes will be distributed on arrival. You will be able to use pop-up banners to advertise your club and your breed.

PROMOTE YOUR PET!

There will be plenty of opportunity for cat owners to chat to the public about their breed and their hobby. From past experience the cats have enjoyed their day, responding well to being the centre of attention with their owners. It is hoped the cats chosen by for exhibition will be ideal for the public to meet as potential pets, therefore it can be a good idea to have more than one cat as your representative so they can take turns to be out on exhibition while the other has a rest.

GENERAL SHOW INFORMATION:

You can find more information about the National Pet Show from their website at http://www.thenationalpetshow.com/ or on their Facebook Page. Details regarding parking etc. will be circulated as soon as I receive details.
