STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS

OBJECTIVE: This Practical Exercise (PE) measures your understanding and ability to perform unit strength reconciliation as you prepare your unit for deployment.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

1.  Access to the eMILPO database

2.  PE Booklet

3.  Printer

INSTRUCTIONS:

a. Ensure your name; rank, class number, and date are correct on the answer sheet.

b. This PE booklet contains a scenario with applicable information for you to submit applicable arrival, attachment, departure, and duty status transaction to reconcile and print the AAA 162 (Unit Strength Accountability Report). You will be given 50 minutes to complete this PE. Check to ensure that you have the complete scenario for this PE. If any portion of the PE is illegible, inform the instructor in order to obtain a new PE booklet. You will receive a GO/NO-GO for this PE.

NOTE: You should be logged into the eMILPO AHRS Web-Portal to complete this PE. If needed, ask your instructor for any required information to log in.

c. Each requirement will test your knowledge, understanding, and ability to accurately submit arrival, attachment, departure, Soldier Availability Deployment Tracking and duty status transactions within eMILPO. You are required to complete and submit the transactions on each Soldier identified in the scenario and reconcile all three AAA-162 Reports. Ensure that you read the instructions and scenarios carefully to ensure that you enter the required information and complete the required transactions. All information must be entered correctly to receive a GO on this PE. Missing or information incorrectly submitted will result in a NO GO.

d. ALL WORK ON THE PE MUST BE YOUR OWN. DO NOT communicate with other students, give or receive assistance, make record of your answers anywhere except the answer sheet, or pass on information about this PE to other students. Failure to follow these instructions may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

e. When completed, turn in your PE booklet; printed AAA-162s; and any scratch paper or other issued materials to the instructor. You will receive further instructions at that time.

f. Questions concerning the administration of the PE may be directed to the instructor; however, questions concerning the content of the PE will not be answered.

Practical Exercise

SCENARIO: You work within the S-1 section of the 1st Brigade Combat Team (BCT), 4th Infantry Division. You are required to validate Personnel Accountability by using the current AAA-162 (Unit Personnel Accountability Report) so that he can identify personnel any Personnel changes in the unit’s strength.

NOTE: You should be logged into the eMILPO AHRS Web-Portal. If needed, ask your instructor for any required information to log in.

NOTE: Fort this portion of the PE you will need to access the “Reports” link to view and print the updated AAA-162s the units associated with the UICs – W7CLSN.

1. 2LT Burleson, Geoffrey A., 9_ _-19-80_ _, is currently assigned to 166 AR BN he is under investigation for assault and is possibly facing a General Court Martial. He has not reported to work in 4 days and the commander signed the 4187 changing his duty status to AWOL. Complete a Duty Status transaction with today’s date as the effective date.

2. SGT Cross, Kody K., 9_ _ -19-65_ _), is currently assigned to 166 AR BN. SGT Cross is currently showing present for duty. SGT Cross has been arrested in the local town. The commander has signed the 4187 changing his duty status to CCA. Complete a Duty Status transaction with today’s date as the effective date.

3. SGT Dutchuk, Michael J., 9_ _ -19-89_ _), is currently assigned to 166 AR BN. SGT Dutchuk was involved in a motorcycle accident while off duty. SGT Dutchuk was admitted to the hospital today for observation with a broken leg. Complete a Duty Status transaction with today’s date as the effective date.

4. PV2 Tracy, William D., 9_ _ -19-97_ _), is currently assigned to 166 AR BN. PV2 Tracy is currently showing as Confined by Civil Authorities. He was release today and is now present for duty. Complete a Duty Status transaction with today’s date as the effective date.

5. SFC Lunsford, William (9_ _-19-75_ _), is currently assigned to 166 AR BN. SFC Lunsford signed out and is TDY at Fort Polk, LA. SFC Lunsford will be temporary assigned to the Joint Readiness Headquarters. A Duty Status change must be performed in eMILPO changing his status from PDY-TDY with today’s date as the effective date.

6. You are the HR Specialist currently assigned to the HHC, 166 AR BN, 4th Infantry Division. Attach the following Soldier to your current UIC (W7_ _ _ _), using the DA Form 647/DA 4187 in the supplement packet.

Introduction / The following practical exercise will examine your ability to Process Personnel Accountability Strength Updates.
Motivator / As Soldiers, you will transfer from base to base, CONUS and OCONUS throughout your military career. You will sign into a specific unit and be added to that unit's strength report ensuring your information is current not only on the local files, but also at the top of the Army system. Now let's imagine the unit failed to report your arrival. Not only does the Army not have an accurate record of your location, it also could affect your chance for promotion and could delay any pay entitlements you should be receiving. As a Human Resources Information Systems Management Specialists, you must ensure that accurate accountability information, such as arrivals, is submitted in a timely manner to maintain unit readiness and accurate accountability of Soldiers.

Standards: / Perform the following with 80% accuracy:
1. Process strength related updates to maintain accountability of all personnel.
2. Reconcile out-of-balance strength conditions on the AAA-162 Unit Personnel Accountability Report.
Safety Requirements / No food or drink is allowed near or around electrical equipment (CPU, file servers, printers, projectors, etc.) due to possible electrical shock or damage to equipment. Exercise care in personal movement in and through such areas. Avoid all electrical cords and associated wiring. In event of electrical storms, you will be instructed to power down equipment.
