GC Initial IQ – One Body-Layering concept for metal-ceramic
The maths make economical sense: 4 + 7 = 16! So much quality for little expense is simply a must have
Consistently high quality, reproducible aesthetics and economical working: easily done! The new metal-ceramic concept from GC EUROPE can be reduced to this common denominator. After successfully launching the overpressed ceramic GC Initial IQ – Press-over-Metal and Press-over-Zircon as well as the special GC Initial IQ Lustre Pastes, the company is again showing its superiority at IDS 2009 with an innovative system component. The new GC Initial IQ – One Body-Layering concept enables dental technicians to achieve simple and economical reproduction of standard Vita shades by application of a single layer. The secret: four new Body materials, which can be combined with the proven three-dimensional lustre pastes. Hence the new ceramic range contains fewer materials for more simplicity, aesthetics and especially competitiveness.
Thanks to the One Body concept developed by GC, aesthetically impressive crown and bridgework can be produced in the 16 standard shades from the classic Vita shade guide with just one of the four newly designed metal-ceramic materials (A, B, C or D), combined with the seven exclusive lustre pastes from the GC Initial IQ – POM-Lustre Pastes range, without a large amount of time and effort – both simply and reliably.
Only four ceramics for all 16 standard shades!
Crown build-up with just one ceramic powder from the GC Initial IQ – One Body-Layering system leaves the dental technician enough time and space to concentrate on the contouring and function of the restoration. He can therefore do a fully anatomical build-up of his crown in one working step with just one Body material, fire it, then visually check as he applies the ready-to-use fine ceramic pastes according to the “painting by numbers” principle – for impressive colour depth and translucency. This final “three-dimensional lustre/glaze firing “ then gives a very natural-looking Vita classic tooth shade. Thus GC Initial IQ – One Body-Layering enables the dental technician to achieve uniform and constantly reproducible quality within a very short time.
Low potential for error and low production costs
However, the new feldspar and leucite-reinforced metal-ceramic system impresses not only by its ease of handling, its low potential for error and its aesthetics, but its physical properties are equally impressive: for instance, low shrinkage and excellent homogeneity with high flexural strength and firing stability guarantee that the form, function and colour intensity of the restoration are reliably maintained.
Technically refined – perfectly combined: given a CTE of 13.8 to 14.9, the four high-fusing Body materials are suitable for all conventional alloys, regardless of whether they contain silver, have a reduced gold content or are palladium-based. At the same time they are also compatible with all ceramic, stains and effect materials as well as the opaque pastes and powders from the GC Initial MC range – for individual highlights or aesthetic colour corrections. In short: GC Initial IQ – One Body-Layering stands for “Intelligence Quintessence” because it is an intelligent and compact system that is indicated whenever cost-effectiveness counts and aesthetics must not be sacrificed. At the same time it can also be used as an introductory module to the GC Initial range of veneering ceramics.
Small ceramic range – large competitive advantage
The inexpensive range contains four Body materials A, B, C and D for metal-ceramic (50 g of each), five opaque pastes in the popular shades as well as two diluters and directions for use in several languages. The Body shades are also available individually in a refill pack (50 g or 250 g). The GC Initial IQ – POM-Lustre Pastes range, which is compatible with the tried and tested metal-ceramic and with the new overpressed ceramic for metal frameworks from GC, also contains a neutral ceramic, four Body and seven Effect glazes, diluter, two special brushes, a mixing tray and a demonstration tool for “painting by numbers”.
