POST:Fundraiser

HOURS:37.5 Hours

LOCATION:Hospice – Fundraising Office

ACCOUNTABLE TO:Fundraising Manager

2) JOB PURPOSE

The post holder will work as part of the Fundraising Team, in particular maximising income through communityand event fundraising.

To work closely with the Fundraising Manager to implement a Marketing strategy with the aim of raising the profile of the Hospice in the local community.

To support other income streams such as Corporate, Trusts, Legacy, Lottery and In Memory, Donations when necessary.

  • Educated to A Level, relevant qualification or equivalent experience

KEY RESULT AREAS

1. To work closely with the Fundraising Manager to develop a fundraising plan to maximise on the potential of identified prospects within the Fundraising Department.

2. To implement the agreed fundraising plan, targeting prospects as required and appropriate, building long term relationships and ensuring that all supporters feel valued.

3. To undertake meetings, presentations and talks, along the preparation & submission of proposals and applications as necessitated by the fundraising plan.

4. Recruit, develop, manage and support volunteers and volunteer fundraising networks.

5. To create, maintain and build relationships with local schools and community groups

6. Work as part of the wider team to plan, implement and grow sponsored events.

7. Recruit and support event participants for all St. Clare’s events and offer participants further opportunities to support St. Clare’s through a variety of methods.

8. Identify and package fundraising opportunities for prospective donors and volunteers

9. To create fundraising activities in our geographical area.

10. Work closely with the fundraising assistant to maintain up to date records on the Advantage Fundraiser database.

11. To liaise with the Fundraising Manager to ensure that fundraising events and initiatives are marketed and publicised effectively.

12. Contribute to the charity’s social media channels and web content, in liaison with the Fundraising Manager.

13. Work with members of the Fundraising Team to maximise potential publicity and acknowledgement for fundraising supporters and their events.

14. Work closely with the Fundraising Manager to implement a Marketing strategy with the aim of raising the profile of the Hospice in the local community.

15. Effectively communicate St. Clare’s key Service and Fundraising messages to supporters, using a variety of relevant channels including face-to-face, telephone, mailings, text message, print newsletter, e-newsletter, website and social media.

16. Deliver a full in-house press office service including: devising creative PR campaigns and schedules, writing and issuing press releases/photocall requests, case studies and real life stories, and monitoring the public image of the organisation.

17. Work sensitively and empathetically with patients and their relatives to gain their co-operation to produce case studies and interviews, for inclusion in the press and in hospice publications.

18. Work with the Fundraising Manager to implement the successful delivery of the Communication Strategy.

19. Identify potential supporters through local media and networking, securing their support and maximising on their potential for the long term.

20. To develop and maintain a thorough understanding of, and ensure compliance with all legal and contractual requirements associated with fundraising, including risk assessment, volunteer management practices and activities such as street collections.

21. To keep up to date with current trends in the UK fundraising market and the charity sector in general through relevant publications, websites, conferences and networking.,

22. To work in a professional manner at all times, reflecting and maintaining the values and those of the organisation and thereby generating a positive image of St. Clare’s.

23. To contribute to the maintenance of St. Clare’s credibility and reputation in the area.

24. To adhere to all St. Clare’s policies and procedures and to ensure that these are maintained at all times.

25. To promote and maintain positive and constructive working relationships with all staff and volunteers.

26. Undertake appropriate personal development as determined by the annual review and development meetings and subject to the availability of resources.
