Primary Purpose of Role
(Why does the role exist?)
  • This role has a strong partnership management and communication focus where the successful candidate will use their organisational, communication and relationship management skills to assist Tas Gas to achieve Key Performance Indicators/Deliverables and increase brand awareness of Tas Gas services in Tasmania and Regional Victoria.
  • The Marketing and Communications Co-Ordinator will be situated within the Tas Gas Retail business.

Key Result Area / Accountabilities
  1. LEADERSHIP
/
  • Liaise with manufacturers, preferred retailers and gas fitters to implement cooperative strategies & activities in the promotion of Natural Gas.
  • Develop marketing strategy, plan and implement.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications in partnership with Brookfield marketing team to ensure compliance with brand.
  • Assist with the production and management of internal publications, websites content and social media platforms to increase our brand presence in Tasmania and regional Victoria.
  • Work closely with appointed marketing providers and media stakeholders to develop and implement all external marketing, public relations and promotional activities for Tas Gas Retail.

  1. BUSINESS OPERATIONS
/
  • Undertake market competition, demographic and other relevant research that will underpin the marketing strategyto convert to natural gas as a preferred form of energy for cooking, hot water and heating.
  • Work with our preferred suppliers to increase market share and develop tactical sales campaigns.
  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of the marketing database(s) including mailing/contact lists and promotional materials.
  • Coordinate and attend various events and expos in Tasmania and Regional Victoria to promote the Tas Gas Retail brand.
  • Monitor the digital presence of Tas Gas by maintaining and monitoring the Tas Gas website and social media channels ensuring accurate, relevant and reliable information.
  • Assist the TGR Manager and senior management team with the development, implementation and measurement of marketing and sales strategies.
  • Carry out marketresearch by administering or commissioning surveys with target audiences.
  • Manage and filter communication between Tas Gas and media sources and refer to appropriate channels.
  • Research, write and edit marketing and communication material as required.

Qualifications Experience
(What are the essential post-secondary qualifications, industry experience and technical expertise required to meet the key requirements of the role?)
Qualifications /
Memberships: /
  • Tertiary Qualification in a relevant discipline; e.g.Business, Marketing, PR or Communications.

Knowledge /
Experience: /
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a communications, marketing or sales role working effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Tasmanian gas industry (desirable).
  • Experience in developing and executing successful marketing, communication or sales strategies including planning and budget management of events over a calendar year.
  • High level negotiation and customer service skills.
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present to external audiences.
  • High level analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle complex situations.
  • Excellent organisational/time management and planning skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Experience in content management systems and website maintenance and social media management (desirable).
  • Experience in producing a diverse range of content for different media channels not limited to, copywriting for advertisements, social media and website content.
  • Well-developed computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Design Suite (highly desirable).
  • Willingness to travel intra and interstate if and when required.
  • Current Driver’s license.
