The Apostasy
(2 Th 2:3 KJV) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come “a falling away” (from the greek ajpostasiva.)or apostasy(J. P. Greens literal translation “the falling away”) first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
The 1828 edition of Webster’s dictionary defines apostasy as “an abandonment of what one has professed,. . ., or departure from one’s faith or religion. This is a prophesy that has already come to pass, no less a prophetic milestone as the re-establishment of the nation of Israel and I have witnessed in the last thirty years a departure from the faith I never would have believed possible had I not lived to see it.
2 Thess 2;3 tells us that there will be an apostasy that is associated with the appearance of the Antichrist. Most Christians are looking for the arrival of the Antichrist, but very few are looking for "the apostasy" that must come first, instead many are deceived and still looking for a great end time revival.This verse says that the apostasy will to the gospel, a “seeker friendly” revival.

come first and then the Antichrist will be revealed. You may see a revival of sorts but it will be a humanistic approach
One writer said that “Christian” is the most abused brand name in the world. Many of our young people turn away from the church because of the infidelity they see in the lives of their Christian parents, teachers, preachers and pastors. Others in non churched families stay away because of the show business theatrics and pop psychology they see paraded as Christianity today.
By and large our younger generation is looking sincerely for something that is sure, stable, sincere and pure and self help humanistic theology and religious entertainment will never attract and hold those who are sincere about the destination of their souls. Your life, no matter how you try to cover it up, is an open book read by all who pass by your way.
The concept of what it really means to be a Christian is grossly incorrect maligned. The majority of professing “Christians” hold many pagan beliefs, far from possessing a biblical life view.
Need I tell you of the gay and lesbians already in the pulpit despite the abomination to God? (Lev 18:22 & 20:13-16) Or of “seeker friendly” churches whose goal is to build churches through humanistic policies rather than upon the foundation of the Bible and Jesus Christ. What about the nature of today’s sermons, how long has it been since you’ve heard a message on hell, one where you could feel the flames lapping at your feet? Does the average laity actually know the real meaning of repentance, or sanctification?
Seeing that most laity depend upon what they hear preached, how they see the message lived, and seldom do in depth study on their on, it is mandatory that pastors, evangelists and teachers live, preach and teach the true holiness message.
The preaching of hell, sin, repentance, restitution and blood on the altar has become a thing of the past and it is politically incorrect to preach that there is a correct way and a wrong way to dress, leading their flocks on a downward path of morality.
Pastors are to stand upon and for God's word, no matter what the obstacles or the cost.
The scripture says that there will be a great falling away from the true faith in the last days. It says men will not endure sound doctrine but will have itching ears and will heap to themselves teachers that will fulfill their own lusts. We are in those days where many in the church are following doctrines of men rather than the Bible. To the degree that anyone disagrees with the truths of God's word, to that same degree they are falling away from it.
Christians who want merely to be entertained and comforted from the pulpit are in danger of hell fire.
Prov 16:17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. We don’t need to re-write the Gospel to see people saved, we just need to live it first then preach it God’s way. God’s plan has always been the best, still is and will be tomorrow and forever.
I believe that Psalm 2 was written for the time in which we live today, surely any astute Christian can see this passage happening in governments around the world and particularly in the U.S. and in the general attitude of our citizens. We have, as a nation told God to get out of all public institutions, that He is no longer wanted or permitted in the operation of our governments where once He was not only wanted but considered essential to the functioning of our government and country. We have “slapped Him in the face and kicked Him in the shins” so to speak but God will have the last word.
Psa 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Psa 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
Psa 2:3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
Psa 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Psa 2:5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
Psa 2:6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
Psa 2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
