Fuel Prices (Declaration of Secrecy) Regulations 2001

1 Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe the form of the declaration of secrecy required by section 4 of the Fuel Prices Regulation Act 1981.

2 Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 30 of the Act.

3 Commencement[1]

These Regulations come into operation on 18March 2002.

4 Definition

In these Regulations—

the Act means the Fuel Prices Regulation Act1981.

5 Prescribed form

For the purposes of section 4 of the Act, the prescribed form of a declaration of secrecy is set out in the Schedule.

6 Witnessing a declaration

For the purposes of section 4 of the Act, the signing of a declaration of secrecy is only in accordance with the prescribed form if it is witnessed by a person who may witness the signing of a statutory declaration under section107A of the Evidence Act 1958.

do, before entering on my duties under that Act, declare that I will not, except in the course of my duties under that Act (including any interchange of information with persons or bodies regulating prices in other States which is considered expedient in relation to the co-ordination of the regulation or decontrol of prices by the States) directly or indirectly communicate or divulge any information relating to any matter which comes to my knowledge in consequence of my official position under that Act.

1.  General Information

The Fuel Prices (Declaration of Secrecy) Regulations 2001, S.R.No.163/2001 were made on 18 December 2001 by the Governor in Council under section 30 of the Fuel Prices Regulation Act 1981, No.9702/1981 and came into operation on 18 March 2002: regulation 3.

The Fuel Prices (Declaration of Secrecy) Regulations 2001 will sunset 10years after the day of making on 18 December 2011 (see section 5 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994).
