APPLE:

AKANE – Semi-Dwarf

This unique, early-ripening, Japanese variety is prized for its striking, bright red, crisp, juicy and flavorful fruit. One of the best disease-resistant varieties, Akane is great for fresh eating and can be stored for several months. Pollinized by Braeburn, Fuji, Gala, Granny Smith, and Honeycrisp.

BRAEBURN–Semi-Dwarf

Medium to large, oval shaped fruits with definite crown. The skin is green overlaid with a stripe of dark crimson. The flesh is firm, crisp and very juicy. Mildly sweet-tart, excellent flavor and a heavy producer. Stores well. Self-fertile but does better with a midseason pollinizer.

CHEHALIS - Semi Dwarf

The Chehalis resembles the Golden Delicious in appearance and flavor but is larger, crispier, and more elongated. It is good for eating fresh and for baking. It is always reliable, highly productive and has great scab resistance. Pollinizers are: Akane, Liberty, Lodi, Spartan, Melrose, and many more.

FUJI–Semi-Dwarf

Fuji has become a favorite eating apple in most areas of the country. This apple is medium in size with a reddish-green color. The white flesh is firm, crunchy, and juicy with excellent flavor. This apple has good keeping quality and will take summer heat. Self fertile.

GALA–Semi-Dwarf

Gala is a medium, conic to round shaped apple, with golden yellow skin with a reddish-orange blush. The flesh is firm, crisp, sweet and juicy with excellent flavor. It stores well and will take summer heat. Self fertile.

GOLDEN DELICIOUS –Semi-Dwarf

Medium to large fruit. Crisp, juicy, and sweet. Good all-purpose apple. Ready to harvest in late September. Bears young and is a good pollinator. Self fertile.

GOLDEN SENTINEL COLUMNAR - Dwarf

This productive and exceptionally disease-resistant variety bears large and attractive, golden-yellow fruit. Sweet, juicy and delicious it ripens in mid-September and can be stored until January. Golden Sentinel is good for fresh eating and makes delicious pies and sauce. North pole is a pollinizer.

GRANNY SMITH–Semi-Dwarf

Granny Smith is a large apple with bright green skin. The flesh is firm, sweet-tart and is good for eating, cooking and sauce. Self fertile, but does better with early to mid season apple.

GRAVENSTEIN–Semi-Dwarf

A favorite for many generations, this early ripening variety makes the best cider and pies. Vigorous and productive, Gravenstein produces abundant crops of tangy-sweet, large red and green apples. Not a good pollinizer. Needs pollinizer like Fuji, Gala, Jonathan, Red or Yellow Delicious.

HONEY CRISP – Semi-Dwarf

Honeycrisp are yellow with red streaks, medium sized fruits with exceptionally crisp and juicy texture. They have coarse, creamed colored flesh that has sub-acid, sweet/tart flavor. Dessert apple. Excellent storage life – Up to 6 months! Crops heavily so some thinning is required. JONAGOLD–Semi-Dwarf

Extra large apple with light scarlet red skin. The flesh is crisp with an outstanding flavor. Frequent taste test winner. Needs pollinizer like Fuji, Gala, Granny Smith, Red Delicious but not Yellow or Golden Delicious.

LIBERTY – Semi-Dwarf

A prolific bearer that excels where McIntosh won’t. Tree is low-maintenance due to its natural disease resistance to apple scab, cedar apple rust, fire blight, and powdery mildew. Fruit has a yellow background with attractive red overtones, a crisp white flesh, and a harmonious sweet-tart taste. Perfect for fresh-eating, cooking, canning, or keeping – proper storage improves the flavor! Originates from Geneva, New York in 1955. Cold-hardy. Ripens in early September. Pollinized by Cadence, Granny Smith, and Pink Pearl.

NORTH POLE - Dwarf

The earliest ripening of our Columnar varieties, Northpole produces very large, bright-red, tasty McIntosh-type fruit that is crisp, juicy and aromatic. Attractive both in bloom and in fruit, Northpole is very productive and is great for fresh eating and cider. Pollinized by Gold.Sentinel.

PINK LADY–Semi-Dwarf

This apple has blushing pink over green skin, with snappy tart flavor that is balanced with a touch of crisp, sweet flavor. Good keeper with flesh that resists browning. Self-fertile.

PINK PEARL – Semi-Dwarf

Bright pink flesh, greenish-yellow skin, and rich, sweet-tart flavor distinguishes this classic variety. Make delicious pink applesauce with this unique apple! Adding to its garden appeal is its spring display of bright pink flowers! Pink Pearl ripens in late August and can be stored until January. Pollinized by McIntosh and most white flowering crabapples.

RED GRAVENSTEIN–Semi-Dwarf

Large apple with mostly red over yellow-green skin, crisp and juicy. Known for its tangy flavor, it is ideal for sauce and juice. Good for cooking, shipping and eating. This tree is not a pollinizer, also needs a pollinizer such as Empire, Liberty, Lodi or Summer Red.

APRICOT

HARCOT - Dwarf

One of the best apricots available, its large fruit has a sweet, juicy, rich flavor. Its skin is an attractive yellow-orange. Pretty pink flowers appear in spring. This variety is perfect for colder areas with its frost-hardy late bloom. They are good for canning, cooking, or freezing. Resists brown rot and perennial canker. Self fertile

CHERRIES

BING – Semi Dwarf

Fruit is burgundy red, very large, with excellent quality, firm, juicy and sweet. Good for canning. Prone to cracking. Pollinizers are Montmorency, Rainier, Sam, Stella and Van cherries.

DANUBE – Semi Dwarf

Also known as “ErdiBotermo”, the dark red semi-firm fruit of this tree has a unique sweet-tart flavor. Perfect for fresh eating or baking. Self fertile

LAPINS – Semi Dwarf

This self-fertile cherry is almost black with large, firm, high quality fruit. It has rich, sweet, delicious flavor. It is split resistant and a good replacement for Bing. Exceptionally heavy producer. Also an excellent pollinizer for other varieties. Self fertile

MONTMORECY –Semi Dwarf

The classic pie cherry, Montmorency produces abundant crops of firm, bright red, tart and flavorful fruit. The fruit has clear juice and makes the best cherry pies. It grows to 10 ft. in height, is self-fertile and hardy to minus 40° F. Self fertile

RAINIER – Semi Dwarf

An outstanding, vigorous tree. The light yellow-red blushed fruits are very firm, large with finely textured flesh. Distinct, superior flavor. Crack resistant and very cold hardy. Pollinizers are Sam, Van, Bing, Royal Ann, Lambert, Montmorency, Stella.

ROYAL ANN - Semi Dwarf

Large fruit with cream colored skin with red ‘cheeks’. The flesh is cream colored and it is sweet and tart. A favorite for eating, canning and preserves. Pollinizers are Sam, Van, Montmorency, Rainer, Stella. Can’t be pollinized by Bing.

STELLA - Semi Dwarf

Large fruit with dark red, nearly black, skin with firm, sweet, dark red flesh with good flavor and texture. Fruit is very similar to Lambert. Resistant to cracking. Tree bears at a young age and is self-fertile. A good pollinizer for all sweet cherries.

SWEETHEART - Semi Dwarf

This is a large cherry with excellent flavor. Performs well in most of the nation with a low incidence of cracking. Upright, vigorous tree. Heavy producer. Self fertile.

CITRUS: LEMON

IMPROVED MEYER - This very popular and easy-to-grow variety can bloom and produce fruit year around. Following the abundant, deliciously fragrant flowers are large, aromatic, juicy, light-orange lemons.

MEYER – The Meyer Lemon is a hybrid of lemon and sour orange. The fruit is round, skin is tinged orange, thin, and edible, and flavor is sweeter and less acidic than typical lemons. They bloom and bear more prolifically than most lemons.

CITRUS: LEMON/LIME

YUZU ICHANDRIN – Commonly used in Japanese and Chinese cuisine, Yuzu looks like a bumpy lemon or lime. Rinds are very aromatic and flavorful and usually used when green. Flesh is yellow and fruits are very seedy. Yuzu is the only edible citrus that may survive outdoors in the Pacific Northwest; it’s hardy to 0° F, but to be successfully grown in the ground, it will need exceptional soil drainage. Branches are extremely thorny.

CITRUS: KUMQUAT

MEIWA – Known as the “Sweet” Kumquat. Meiwa Kumquat’s differ greatly from the Nagami (sour) kumquat variety, the fruit are larger and sweeter and have a more tender rind. Bite size fruit are meant to be eaten whole for a spicy sweet-tart flavor sensation. Compact small growing trees are ideal for container plantings or short hedges. Fruit ripens October – December. Self Fertile

CITRUS: MANDARIN ORANGE

KISHU SEEDLESS – Adorable, irresistible and perfect for home gardening, Seedless Kishu is juicy with sweet flavor. Said to be an ancient species of Chinese origin, prized for fragrance and taste. Diminutive, golf-ball-sized fruit is easy to peel and divide into sections. Arching branches are lined with highly-fragrant, white flowers in late winter to spring. Fruit ripens mid-season, December to January. Evergreen. Self Fertile

CITRUS: ORANGE

Take care when planting seedless varieties with other citrus trees, as despite the variety being seedless, they can form seeds if cross pollinated with another variety flowering at the same time.

CARA CARA NAVEL – This natural mutation of Navel Orange was found in an orchard in Venezuela. It is prized for its very juicy, sweet, reddish-pink flesh and occasional variegated foliage.

FLYING DRAGON – An exceptionally hardy citrus relative, Flying Dragon is prized for its naturally dwarf form, contorted branches, and striking, hook-shaped thorns. While its fruit is too tart for fresh eating, its juice can be used as a lemon-like seasoning. It is deciduous and reportedly hardy to minus 20° F.

WASHINGTON NAVEL – Delicious, easily peeled, seedless fruit is produced by this dwarf-sized tree. Fragrant flowers in spring and handsome foliage year round. Adapted to most areas, except desert and cool coastal areas. Evergreen. Self Fertile

WEEPING NAVEL – A unique weeping selection of orange with largish sweet and juicy fruit with a slight pineapple tang that are ready from late winter. Ideal for pots. Self Fertile but cross-pollination can increase fruit size.

FIG

DESERT KING – Semi-Dwarf

Flesh is strawberry colored with a rich, sweet flavor. It has fewer seeds than most figs. Can be eaten fresh, canned, or dried. Tree is very vigorous. Self-fertile and generally bears twice per year.

OSBORNE PROLIFIC – Semi-Dwarf

This variety produces medium to large dark red-brown to bronze pear shaped fruit with amber to light strawberry flesh. It has very sweet and rich flavor. Self Fertile

PETER’S HONEY – Semi-Dwarf

This variety was brought from Sicily. It bears medium sized light yellow-green fruit with outstanding sweet dark amber flesh.

MULBERRY

BLACK BEAUTY – Semi-Dwarf

The Black Beauty Mulberry produces a large, tasty blackberry-like fruit that is sweet and juicy. This is of the smallest of the mulberry trees offered, growing to 15 feet or so tall and wide. The Black Beauty Mulberry, like all the other mulberries, is self-fertile and ripens over an extended period in early summer (Late May to Early June) Grows in zones: 4 – 10.

NECTARINE

FLAVORTOP – Semi-Dwarf

Very vigorous and heavy-bearing tree offers fruit with exceptionally good flavor and sweetness. Fragrant pink spring flowers yield a summer harvest of large freestone nectarines with yellow flesh and red skin. Self-fruitful. Recommended chill: 600 - 700 hours. Grows in zones: 6 - 9

RUBY GRAND – Semi-Dwarf

The Ruby Grand Nectarine Tree produces a large, yellow nectarine with a bright red blush of exceptional quality. The firm, yellow, melt in your mouth fruit is good for fresh eating, canning, freezing and drying. The Ruby Grand Nectarine Fruit Tree ripens late June to early July. 600 Chill Hours Required. Grows in zones: 5 - 9

ALMOND:

HALL’S HARDY–Semi-Dwarf

Pretty and productive. Large, hard-shell nuts give way to bittersweet kernels. This attractive tree yields large crops of crunchy almonds in fall, and its lovely pink flowers make it a landscape standout in spring. Grows wherever peaches thrive. Matures to be 15–20' tall, 10–15' wide. Ripens in late September. Self-pollinating.

FILBERT / HAZELNUT

HALL’S GIANT - Hall's Giant is an old hazel variety, but it gets its name from the size of the nuts not the size of the tree - it grows as a compact bush. It is one of the best hazels if conditions are less than perfect. The nuts are not as large as some of the modern hazel varieties - however the flavour is good, one of the best available.

JEFFERSON – Developed at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon and was released in January 2009. This variety combines very high resistance to eastern filbert blight, with large nut size, good kernel quality, and high yields. A mix of at least three pollinizers that shed pollen at different times during the bloom period is recommended. We recommend Gamma or Yamhill for early season overlap and Eta or Theta for late season overlap.

THETA – Developed at Oregon State University and released in January 2009. This variety releases pollen very late during flowering season and are compatible with most cultivars. They have complete resistance to eastern filbert blight, and carry resistance from Gasaway. Suitable pollinizer for ‘Jefferson’.

WALNUT

COOKE’S GIANT SWEET – Very large, elongated, medium thick, rough texture shell, with fine sweet flesh. Good nut for backyard use. Prolific growth, large leaves. Very interesting conversation piece because of its size and appearance.

MANREGION – Round, mild-flavored, thinned, smooth-shelled nuts. A large, spreading tree that can get up to 40 feet tall by 30 feet wide. Very hardy, long lived. Fast growing and very productive tree. This tree requires full sun, slightly acid to neutral deep soil with good drainage, and deep watering until it is established. Foliage emerges late in the season. Can be harvested in the fall.

OLIVE

ARBEQUINA – A self-fruiting olive prized for its dark brown fruit with highly aromatic oil content that ripens in fall, and the attractive silvery green foliage. Highly adaptable, it produces abundantly in hot dry climates. Makes a beautiful specimen shrub or small tree. Evergreen. Self Fertile

PEACH

CHARLOTTE - Semi Dwarf

One of the best peaches for our climate, Charlotte is valued for its strong resistance to Peach Leaf Curl and large, tasty, freestone fruit. A productive and reliable variety, Charlotte bears good crops that ripen in late August. Self Fertile. Semi Freestone

ELBERTA – Semi Dwarf

Notorious for its sweet, succulent fruit with the tell-tale blush covering its skin when perfectly ripe, this tree is favored for its vigorous growth, steady production of fruit, and compact size. Self Fertile. Freestone

DWARF EMPRESS - Dwarf

Sweet yellow flesh. Clingstone, ripens in September. Has showy pink blossoms, and is very cold hardy. Self Fertile. Freestone

DWARF GOLDEN GLORY - Dwarf

Very large, yellow fleshed, freestone peach with good, juicy flavor. Gorgeous Spring Blooms make it an excdellent addition to any landscape. Naturally dwarf, maturing at 4-5 tall and wide. Good producer. Ripens mid to late August. Great option for colder areas. Hardy to zone 6. Needs 700 hours below 45º F during the dormant season each year.

DWARF SOUTHERN FLAME - Dwarf

Large peach with red-blushed yellow skin. Yellow flesh is firm, crisp, and melting, aromatic; good for eating fresh. Midseason harvest. Self Fertile. Freestone

OREGON CURL-FREE - Semi Dwarf - Semi Freestone

This variety’s strong disease resistance makes it a good choice for the Northwest and other regions. Oregon Curl-Free bears abundant crops of sweet and juicy peaches that ripen mid-August. Self Fertile. Semi Freestone
