Student View Scholarship Program- One $4000 scholarship, two $1000 scholarships and eight $500 scholarships are available. Simply log on to ww.student-view.com and complete a 15min. application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarships will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications. The winner will be announced in May. The deadline to apply is on April 20, 2014.

Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico- Hispanic Scholarship- Minority student with minimum GPA of 2.0 who will enroll at NMSU or Dona Ana Community College, have financial need, and demonstrated participation in high school and community activities. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and due by April 4.

Global Lift Equipment Scholarship- One $500 award will be given to a student that will attend in the fall of 2014 at a post -secondary institution. You must submit a short story. Detailed instructions can be found on the application page. Minimum GPA 2.5 required. Go to by June 15.

Your Favorite Car Scholarship- One $500 award will be given to a student thatwill attend in the fall of 2014 at a post- secondary institution and in a program at least two or more years. Go to Due April 30.

Silver City Woman’s Club Scholarships- One nursing scholarship for $1000 and one general scholarship of $1000 are available. Both must be used at WNMU. Submit a copy of your current transcript and a brief biography to Silver City Woman’s Club, Attn: ScholarshipCommittee, PO Box 1579 Silver City, NM 88062 by April 4.

Odenza Vacations College Scholarship- This is one $500 award to a student aged 17 -24 by Sept. 1,2014. Submit an answer to the essay question which can be found on the application page. Min. GPA of 2.5 required. Applications can be found at and due by June1st.

Got a Spine Scholarship- One $500 award will be given to student that will be attending college no later than Oct, 2014 on a full time basis. You must have achieved a GPA of 2.5 or greater during last academic year. Applications can be found at by June 2. Also note you can be majoring in any field of study.

MCO Scholarship- This is one $500 award to those attending college on a full time basis. You must submit an answer to the essay question. Applications found by going to by May 15.

Find a Law Scholarship- One $500 award to those attending college on a full time basis in the US. Complete an online form and short question by May 15. Go to ww.phoenixwrongfuldeathlawyer.com to apply.

Maple Leaf Dentistry Scholarship- This is a $500 award to those attending college in the fall of 2014. You must have 100 hours of volunteer work for two years and GPA 3.0. Applications can be found at by May 30.

LM Scholarship Program-Students must be enrolled in a degree program by September and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and submit an answer to the essay question. Go to by May 31.

Lift Parts Express Scholarship- This is a $500 award to a current senior in high school who is expected to be enrolled by the fall of 2014 in college. Go to by June 30, 2014.

William M. Olson/Warren Taylor Science and Engineering Scholarship- This is $2500 scholarship for one academic year at the college of your choice. Any student who is graduating in 2014 in NM may apply. Also you must be planning to major in a physical science or engineering field. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and due by May 1st.

American Hotel and Lodging Educational Foundation Scholarships-This isfor incoming freshman who will be enrolled in hospitality or related degree programs at a U.S. college or university. The foundation administers 10 scholarship programs and almost
$50,000 toward incoming freshman. Details can be found along with the application at May 1 is the deadline.

Meet UNM April 5, 2014- 9am till 1pm. Registration begins at 8:30.A special event just for high school students, to explore academic programs, learn about services, and presentations by UNM departments. Tour the campus and residence halls. RSVP @admissions.unm.edu/meetunm or call 505-277-8503.

Western BankScholarship for $500 to a student from SHS. Apps are available in the Guidance Office and due by April 15.

Western Bank –Banking Scholarship- This is banking specific and students who apply must meet the criteria. The amount is $4000, awarded over 4 years, $1000 per year. Apps are available in the Guidance Office and due by April 15.

Loyal Order of the Moose Scholarships-Open to high school seniors and due by May 1st. Minimum GPA of 2.5 required. The award is $ 500 the first semester and $500 the next pending the 2.5 GPA. This is renewable each year. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

FAFSA- Free Application for Federal Student Aid- this is theform all students must fill out if they hope to get federal, state, need-based, work study financial aid, or student loans. It is available at fafsa.ed.gov and can be completed online. Begin In Jan. with parent’s tax information.

WUE- Western Undergraduate Program-If you are a resident of a WICHE state, you are eligible to request a reduced WUE tuition rate of 150% of the resident rate at one of the 150 participation schools in the WEST. Search the WUE database to see which institutions participate and which programs they have available at the WUE rate. Participating WICHE states include-Alaska, Ariz., Calif., Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nev., New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, SouthDakota, Utah, Wash., and Wyoming. If you apply using a hard copy mark prominently WUE on the college application form otherwise mark the box on the online form. There is no general WUE form. Also residency alone doesn’t guarantee you the WUE rate because some universities/colleges have additional criteria. Visit t for more information.

SAT- Register now for the SAT and SAT subject tests –Sign up by April 4 to take the May 3rdexam. The SAT is used for college admission, placement and scholarships. To register and get a free practice go to sat.org/register. It’s suggested that seniors should take this in the fall and juniors in the springtime.

ACT-Sign up for this college exam by May 9 for the June 14thexam. The cost is $36.50 and the ACT Plus Writing is $52.50. See your counselor about a fee waiver if you qualify for free or reduced lunch. This is used for college admission, placement and scholarships. Apply at

National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Eligibility Center- Any college bound student athlete needs to apply if you want to play a college sport. You must be cleared first with an initial eligibility certification process in order to play college sports. They thoroughly check your classes, GPA in core areas and ACT/SAT scores. Go to for information and to apply. There is a fee for this service.
