CLASSROOM CALENDAR

From Now Until Holiday Break

Engelbert-English 9

We will be reading The Odyssey in our textbook, so it is VERY IMPORTANT to keep up on homework over the next few weeks. YOU WILL HAVE HOMEWORK EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THIS UNIT. If you use your class time wisely, you should be able to finish it on some days. Your completion of homework will prepare you for the quizzes and tests (60% of your overall grade). You will be able to use your notes/handouts on some of the quizzes/tests. I will be stamping homework daily and collecting a final score for your classwork/homework ONLY TWICE over the course of the unit. If your homework/classwork is not stamped, you are only eligible to receive half credit. Tests are marked in bold. I will be conducting “Odyssey Review Sessions” after school on certain dates (see end of calendar), so if you miss a day of class, I highly advise that you attend one. If you did not check out a textbook earlier in the year due to inability to access the Pearson text online, then you need to make other arrangements. YOU MUST HAVE ACCESS TO THE PEARSON TEXT TO COMPLETE THIS UNIT!!!!If for some reason you can’t, use the Fitzgerald translation here: However, be warned because there are no “episode titles”.

While study this famous body of work, you will receive a classwork/homework packet. I will not be providing extras of this packet, so if you lose it, then you must print it out from my website. This is a lengthy document, so I advice you to take good care of it! We will also be answering questions/taking notes in our Daily Objective Journal, so is important that you bring this to class everyday.
