Congratulations on being selected to serve as an official for the 2008 OSAA Soccer Championships at Liberty High School and Wilsonville High School on Saturday, November 15.

Assignments are subject to change when the participating teams are known. You will be contacted by Patrick Duffy if any adjustments in assignments become necessary.

Passes: Identify yourself as an official at the entry gate; you will not need a pass.
Pre-Game Meetings: Attendance at Pre-Game Meetings with the assessors is mandatory for all officiating crews. The Pre-Game Meetings will be held in the Press Box at the respective stadium at the times indicated below. Pre-game meetings for games following the first game will each be held during halftime of the previous game.

At the Pre-Game Meeting, officiating crews will receive instructions from the State Rules Interpreter or his designee regarding the pre-game ceremonies and timing (i.e., procedure for introductions, national anthem, when you are expected on the field, procedure for debriefing following the contest, etc.)
Also at the Pre-Game Meeting, Fourth Officials are responsible for picking up game balls, an air horn and a clipboard with a copy of the “Fourth Official’s Game Report Form”. Fourth Officials should also turn on and test the field hand-held radio prior to the start of the contest.
Dress Code:
Pre-game - Male officials are expected to wear a sport coat, tie, dress slacks, and dress shoes to their match. (A blue sport coat and gray slacks are preferred.) Female officials should wear a dress suit. If they prefer, officiating crewmembers may bring other clothing to wear following the game.
During the Game- All officials are instructed to wear long-sleeved USSF gold jerseys. (In the event that an official does not own such a jersey, the official should contact Patrick Duffy who will make arrangements to provide a borrowed jersey on final contest day.) In the case of a color conflict between the USSF gold jerseys and either team, referees should be prepared to wear the USSF red long sleeve jersey. Referees do not need to change shirts in the case of a color conflict with either or both goalkeepers. At the option of the referee, the fourth official may be allowed to wear USSF or NISOA warm-ups during the game, in case of inclement weather.
Championship Game Pre-Game Protocol:
The stadium clock will wind down showing time until announcements.
60 minutes- Teams may warm up on side fields (or main field if they are in the first contest.)
40 minutes- Officials are expected to be on the field. Teams may warm up on the main field as soon as the awards assembly from the previous contest is concluded.
15 minutes- The coin toss should be completed.
0 minutes- Announcements. On a cue by radio from the spotter in the press box, the Referee, Assistant Referees and 4th Official will enter the field from the team side at the half-line with game balls in-hand, walk to the middle of the center-circle, and place the balls on the ground in front of them facing the main stands. The non-starters for the designated visiting team will then be introduced first, followed by the starters for the visiting team and the coaches. Following a similar introduction of the designated home team, the officials and both teams will face the flag for the playing of the National Anthem.
Teams should be allowed Two Minutes for final team meetings with coaches, during which officials should move into position for the start of the game.
Half-times will be 10 minutes in length. Officials should return to their dressing room during the half-time. Officials should be prompt in starting the second half on time!
If the game is tied at the end of regulation, the overtime procedure and kicks to be followed will be the same as that followed during the play-offs. Please review the OSAA tie breaker procedures before coming to the game.
Officials should leave the field immediately at the conclusion of the game.
Debriefing by Assessors: The assessors assigned to each match will meet the officials in the locker rooms immediately following their match for a debriefing. It is asked that all officials wait to shower and dress until after their debriefing, since the assessors will be on a tight schedule.
Overnight Housing: Reservations have been made for Rick Secor, William Witharm and Joe Keenan for Friday night, and for Jaime Arizaga, Jason Vercryusse and Ron Harker for Saturday night.
