Subject: Question

1.  The exterior of the existing supply and return duct have corrugated metal building siding around the exterior of it. Is this required for the replacement of the duct?

The original ductwork was severely damaged due to the weather and many years out doors.. the ducting was replaced and covered with the corrugated metal.. Possibly there is now better ductwork designed for use outside on a permanent basis. If not, there should be some way to protect the ductwork from the elements.

2.  The pool water is no longer connected to the existing unit. The piping connection is still on the outside of the building but is disconnected or shut off on the inside of the building. Is this required of the new Unit?

The pool water in question is the condensing coil used to return condensate from the humid pool air back to the pool.. The original coil failed and allowed water to enter the refrigerant line. The coil was isolated and we no longer collect and resend condensate to the pool. This option should also be priced and then discussed as an option. It is recommended that we have this option installed. We lose thousands of gallons of water per year just in the condensate.
