Please do NOT drive in even if you see that the gates are open.Papatoetoe Intermediate School will not accept any damage caused to any vehicles that are on the property that do not have authorization to be there.

OUR INCREDIBLE CAMP EXPERIENCE AT CAREY PARK

The amazing Room 2 students went to camp on Monday 11th August and returned on Wednesday 13th August feeling exhausted, sleep deprived and also excited that we survived camp.

Some of the magnificent activities we tried were: The fantastic flying fox, the awesome air rifles, the wet ‘n’ wild water hole, the krazy kayaking, the outstanding archery, the beautiful bush walk, the crazy confidence course.

Amber’s favourite thing to do was the water hole. Even though it was icy cold water it was cool swinging off the rope into the freezing cold deep water hole. The water hole was really slippery as well as cold. There were many of us that tried this. We all had to jump in together before we tried the swing. Amber went across the river twice. Then we had to swim across the river to the water slide. It was really ice cold water but did that stop us? No way!

Sharleen really loved the flying fox because she got to wear the harnesses and carry Sutty. Sharleen had to walk up the gazillion steps (so it felt) but really it was only 15 – 20. When she got to the top and looked down, she was scared out of her mind. Her group were so encouraging that she forgot her fear and used their cheering to get her across. She had accomplished her fear of heights that she went back to do it again 4 more times. Amber carried Bula across the zip line. Deepika carried Bula and Jordan and I carried Sutty across the zip line. Heights are not a problem for Sharleen anymore.

We held our own X factor competition. There were outstanding performances from all the children. Four of our class members made it to the finals. The sensational Carl, the precious Mary, the incredible Warren and the hot dog! Taylor. After the X factor finals we had a dynamite disco with all our friends and we got to boogie the night away with our treasured teachers.

We had so much fun together. We are so glad that most of our class went because we got to bond and enjoy each other’s company for the whole 2 nights and 3 days. We really want to go back to camp and stay there!
