BOARD RESIGNATIONS
Our Board has at the meeting in February reluctantly accepted the resignations of Selina Groube [previous Board Chair] and Ingrid Otene.
Ingrid has moved with her family to live in Papamoa. She reports that life is like a long summer holiday with daily swims and walks to the beach. Ingrid was a long standing Board member, with close connections to Papatoetoe East Primary School and a deep commitment to the on-going development of successful educational opportunities for all the children in our community. She will be sorely missed and hard to replace.
Selina has resigned in order to fully concentrate on her newly established teaching career. Selina has served on the Papatoetoe Intermediate School Board since 2008. In addition Selina also became a trustee on the New Zealand School Trustees Association Board serving not only our local community but also the wider South Auckland Educational context. She has been a dedicated, determined and extremely supportive Board member and Chair and we wish her all the best in her newly begun chosen career; as a classroom teacher – serving again the children in this community.
Our Board thanks both Ingrid and Selina for their efforts on our behalf.
BOT VACANCY
A casual vacancy has now occurred on the Board of Trustees for an elected parent representative.

STUDENTS WORK – Year 7, Room 6
This is our class chant we performed for our “Meet the Teacher evening”
It was written by our class and it guides our learning.
We are, we are learners. We are, we are learners. We are, we are learners.
Yo, yo, yo, lend me your ear, come a little closer, no need to fear.
Learning is cool, learning is fun, we are room 6, we are number one.
It feels safe in class, we learn with pride, we are prepared, because we care.
We use inside voices, and make good choices, we are here to get an education.
Who are we? We are Room 6. What do we do? We are learners.
Why oh why? It is our right, we are tomorrow’s leaders.
We are, we are learners. We are, we are learners. We are, we are learners.
Classroom teacher – Mata Magalei
