Poet’s Place
Rain
by Sadie
The rain was like tears
Coming from the sky
Quiet small and sad and blue
And tiny and short
Plop plop plop
Pliitily plopitly plop plitily
Plop / So it is with children who learn to read fluently and well: They begin to take flight into whole new worlds as effortlessly as young birds take to the sky. —William James
