OVERVIEW

The County of Fresno Purchasingon behalf of the Department of the Information Technology Department is requesting proposals from qualified vendors to provide the following proposal for replacement of outdated radio equipment. The County of Fresno is currently in the process of converting the existing radio system to meet the standards for the narrow band update.The proposal is for equipment to be installed by County staff at several locations across the County.

FresnoCounty is located near the center of California's San JoaquinValley.The County’s western boundary, reach a height of over 4,000 feet near Coalinga while some peaks along the crest of the Sierra Nevada, the county's eastern boundary, exceed 14,000 feet. The valley floor in between is fifty to sixty miles wide and has an elevation near the city of Fresno of about 325 feet. The temperatures at the radio site locations can range from 0°F - 115°F.

The equipment will be purchased/leased over several months in a staged approach. It is the County’s desire to pick one vendor for all equipment purchased. All equipment will be purchased/leased by no later than November, 2012.
