Frequently encountered Migration issue

Outlook won’t open (DO THIS FIRST)

1) Go to “Start”  “Control Panel”  “Mail (32-bit)

2) Once Mail opens, go to “Show Profiles”

3) Click on “Add” and give it a name

4) The Auto Acccount setup will open and here you will enter your and your password for your netID. Don’t use your Medicine email.

5) Mail will try to automatically set up the rest of the settings, you’ll need to enter your netID and password in a new window that opens.

6) Lastly, go to the bottom and make the new profile the default profile by selecting it the drop down menu under “Always use this profile.”

I don’t know how to give someone “Proxy Access” to my CALENDAR

1) Use the web app and click Share. It’s the easiest method

2) Enter the person’s name and select.

3) Use the Pull down menu and choose “delegate”

OUTLOOK Version, a little more involved

1) Select File

2) Click on “Account Settings” then select delegate access.

3) Click Add and enter the person’s name

Importing Groupwise Calendar to Outlook

1) Go to Calendar in Outlook.

2) Select “File” then choose “open” and “Import/Export.”

3) When the Import Wizard opens, select ”.ics.” When Adam migrated your account, he exported and .ics file from Groupwise and saved in in you re Home directory. If can’t find it or think that it may be out of date, you can go to Groupwise, right click on “Calander” and Export an new .ics file.

4) With the .ics file select click Ok and import it to your default calendar.

Importing CONTACTS from Groupwise to Outlook

1) In Groupwise, right click on “Frequent Contacts” and select export

2) Choose Comma Separated Value (.csv) and save it somewhere where you can find it. It will take Groupwise a few minutes to complete

3) Go to Outlook and select the contact icon.

4) Select File and “Open & Export” and then select Import/Export

5) Choose import from another program and then select Comma Separated Values and then browse to the folder you just exported.

Signature block

1) Click on “New Email”

2) Click Signature then click on Signature again

3) Click new and create your signature block and save

4) You can chose from one or more signature blocks

iPhone +Calendar

1) Settings-->Mail, Contacts, Calendars

2) Scroll all the way down to the end and select Default Calendar

3) Select the calendar you would like as your default

Deleting old account in an iPhone

1) Settings

2) Mail Contacts, Calendars

3) Click on the account you want to remove

4) Select ‘Delete Account’

Medicine email became the primary email

1) No reason to change it, but you can by going to going to https://wiscmail.wisc.edu/admin logging in with your netID

2) Select Office 365 then Email Addresses

3) Select which address you want to be Primary.
