Unit Statement: The student will talk about traditions in the countries of the target language and compare them with his/her own culture.

Essential Outcomes: (must be assessed for mastery)

  1. The Student Will revise the calendar with main holidays celebrated in the countries of the target language.
  1. TSW discover the traditions related to these holidays.
  1. TSW make a presentation of a holiday of his/her choice.
  1. TSW celebrate the closest holiday in the calendar with classmates à la française.
  1. TSW usethe verbs ‘souhaiter, féliciter, desirer, vouloir’ in different forms.
  1. TSW learn main expressions related to different holidays (Bonne Année! Bonne fête! Etc.)
  1. TSW make a card for a holiday of his/her choice.
  1. TSW sing songs and read little poems related to the topic.

  1. The Student Will practice telling dates and names of holidays in French.
  1. TSW discover the French culture comparing with his/her own one.
  1. TSW make wishes cards in French.
  1. TSW create a visual project related to the essential outcomes (booklet, poster, presentation).
  1. TSW practice speaking, reading, writing and listening skills.
