Unit Statement: The student will read various rhymes, poems, stories and folk tales. The student will memorize the vocabulary, answer the questions and retell the story. The student will keep a journal during the whole year.

Essential Outcomes: (must be assessed for mastery)

1.  The Student Will read various rhymes, poems, stories and folk tales.

2.  TSW memorize vocabulary pertaining to the text.

3.  TSW answer the questions about the context.

4.  TSW talk about the main characters.

5.  TSW retell the text.

Introduced/Practice Outcomes: (See Course Outcomes)

1.  The Student Will write a list of words related to the text.

2.  TSW practice answering questions about the text.

3.  TSW practice using vocabulary in summaries.

4.  TSW practice acting out (puppet show, drama and etc.) the stories.

5.  TSW participate in some role play and in simple dialogues.

6.  TSW design a journal.

7.  TSW develop speaking, reading, writing and listening skills.
