Meeting Minutes

October 18, 2015

Ethete, Wyoming

The meeting was called to order by Secretary Mary Haper at 4:10 pm. Ron Howard was absent. Using parliamentary procedures, Bruce Palmer was elected Chair Pro-Tem to run the meeting and did so until Sergio arrived. There were approximately 10 persons in attendance. We met at the Tribal College in Ethete.

The Minutes of September 21, 2015 were approved.

Bruce Palmer gave the Treasurer's Report as Mike Crosby was absent. Bank balance is $305.24. Sandy turned in $60 worth of t-shirt money. The donation jar was passed which added $155. Sandy asked for reimbursements for candy she bought for July 4th parade in Lander and the Riverton parade. Bruce will give her invoices to Mike for payment.

We determined that Sandy has six t-shirts, Bruce and Sergio have about nine each.

Rod reported on T3, Train the Trainer, being put on by the Association of Democratic State Chairs. Bruce spoke about an event coming up at CWC on November 7-8. It will include information on VoteBuilder, Media Relations, being a candidate, etc. Register at Wyodems.org.

Bruce reported that he was unable to put in a bid for Fremont County to host the state convention but he heard that Cheyenne and Evanston put in bids.

Bruce reported that the Bernie Sanders representative did not respond to his invitation to come to Wyoming after all.

A hate crime resolution was developed and drafted by Bruce and presented to the group. The document was reviewed by all present and the document will be finalized with our changes. Bruce plans to do a press release and/or a letter to the editor. Bruce will get Ron Howard's approval before proceeding with the release. The group passed approval of the resolution. This resolution is very timely with the upcoming anniversary of Matthew Shepherd's death. It was noted several times that this is NOT about capital offenses that are punishable by other laws. It is about offenses that are not capital offenses.

Sergio spoke about his new position as liaison between the Governor and the Arapaho Tribe. His new email is .

Several persons present wanted to be added to Ron Howard's email list. Mary collected the emails and will get them to Ron.

The November meeting will be in Hudson on November 15th. Julie Twist from Public Health will be our guest speaker.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:45pm.
