What makes a house a home? Join in for an interactive storytelling experience as you look, listen, and learn in the exhibition Intersections: World Arts, Local Lives. Families and children of all ages are invited to step in and discover homes from around the world and discover how people live across the globe. Story Time is a short format, informal storytelling program facilitated by Fowler educators. This event is free, no reservation required. All materials will be provided. Meet in the Fowler’s Lobby. After Story Time, continue to learn about lives around the world by traveling to four different countries with your very own passport in a self-guided gallery adventure! Visit The Market Place to check out the three Anaheim Ducks holiday trees: the Wild Wing tree, Player tree, and Fan tree. Located throughout the center, the trees are designed and inspired by the team, the fans, and Wild Wing, the team's official mascot. Afterwards, leave your friend at the Ranch, because the animals are having a bookstore slumber party! Kids can return anytime the next day to pick up their friends and see pictures of what they were up to while everyone else was sleeping. The event is recommended for ages 3-9.

Cabrillo Marine Museum educators will be conducting this tour of the Point FerminTidepools. Families can attend an informative slide show in the John M. Olguin Auditorium, then come along on the naturalist-led ramble on the rocks to see animals in their natural habitat. Kids will love this outdoor event that will enable them to learn about the animals. Kids must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Wear comfortable dress and footwear.

Montrose celebrates the holidays with its 41st annual Christmas Parade. The Montrose Christmas Parade Association works all year long to plan this much loved community event for all to enjoy. You can look for something fun for the kids before the parade starts, come early to do some shopping, enjoy one of our fine restaurants, and get a good spot on the parade route. The parade staging starts at La Crescenta Avenue and Honolulu Avenue, the parade begins at Honolulu Ave and Rosemont Ave and runs east to Verdugo Road. Please plan to arrive early, set up some chairs and a blanket and get some dinner in one of the great Montrose restaurants and have a fabulous time with the whole family. Free and open to all.

Come kick off the holiday season in grand style at the Banning Museum’s Annual Victorian Christmas Celebration and Open House. Visitors will enjoy period entertainment, tours of the Museum decorated in holiday splendor, refreshments, a children’s craft, a blacksmith, a horse-drawn trolley ride between The Banning Museum and Drum Barracks Civil War Museum as well as local food and craft vendors. Kids can put their completed lists in Vroman's special North Pole mail box for special delivery directly to Santa. There will be a variety of crafts to choose from and little gifts that can be taken home to give to your family! They supply the stationery, craft supplies, and also mail the letters from the store.
