2009 - Player Spreadsheet.xls

You’ll need to use this spreadsheet to fill in the information for your players. Notice that there isn’t as much information to fill out this year. Here are a few requirements/shortcuts on the spreadsheet:

(1)Use proper capitalization rules on everything (do not use the caps lock and capitalize every letter).

(2)Do not use your school for the athletes’ address/phone #, etc – you must supply the athlete’s personal info.

(3)For the position, use caps and ONLY the following positions (QB, RB, WR, TE, OL, DT, DE, LB, DB)

(4)The Junior Player Development Program is a youth program that our kids most likely haven’t participated in unless they have moved in from a different area.

2009 - Participant Medical.doc

We are allowed to use our players’ physicals that we have on file at school from last season. I will need copies of every player’s physical. If it is a new player, then the Medical form attached needs to be filled out.

2009 - Participant Waiver.doc

Make copies. Distribute to your players. Have a waiver for every player on your spreadsheet – no exceptions!

2009- Coaches Spreadsheet.xls

Fill in your coaches’ information. If I don’t receive the information on time, you will lose your coaching spots.

Dates and Time for the Frederick Site

Monday, May 18 to Friday, May 22 (5:30pm to 8:00pm)

Players per School

Each school will receive up to 30 player spots for the camp. When you turn in your player list you may put 35 on the list – put them in order (the last five may or may not be able to attend). We will adjust the number of participants evenly if some schools do not need the 30 spots or if some schools decide not to participate.

Verify that ALL players you put on the Players Spreadsheet will be participating. As a general rule, players should be projected varsity players, not JV level players.

Jerseys and NFL Character Development Material

There is no fee for the players to participate. This year, the players technically cannot receive their jersey because the NFL has found that it’s a possible NCAA violation. We have been instructed to collect all the jerseys at the end of the camp … but can donate the jerseys to the school or a charitable organization – read between the lines here; we’ll take care of things. We may have to spend more time on the character development piece this year – we’ll see.

Paperwork

The following paperwork is required for each player that you put on the spreadsheet – there are no exceptions here. Do not put players on the spreadsheet without following up with accompanying paperwork – whether the player drops out or not. You do not have to have transcripts this year.

- Physical (or HSPD Medical Form)

- Agreement to Waiver of Claims and Liability Release

Coaches per School

Put two coaches down on your Coaches Spreadsheet. You will be guaranteed one paid position from your school (possibly two). If your players do not show, you will be removed from the paid coaches list. Paid coaches receive $200 each. Each paid coach also receives a gym bag along with other NFL attire. Other coaches are encouraged to participate; they just will not receive pay or attire. Each participating school will also be responsible for a position (QB, RB, TE, OL, WR, DT, DE, LB, DB). The coaching DVD’s this year are from the University of Georgia.

Take Care of the Spreadsheets and Forms ASAP

This is the closest thing we have to spring ball. Take advantage of it. The NFL almost cancelled this entire program this year. They did cancel their Junior Player Development Program. They have been putting more pressure on “the directors” of the camps and creating a great deal of additional work for us. Unfortunately, other camps have not been very diligent so the rest of us pay for it. Help me out by taking care of your part. I will be in contact with everyone as we organize the camps. If you have any questions, call me.
