Principal's Message
I would like to welcome everyone to a great new year at Lacy! It was great to see all of our Lacy Lions return. We also want to welcome our new Lacy Lions and families. The teachers and staff have worked hard to prepare for a fantastic year! We had a great first day and look forward to many more.
Walkers at Dismissal - We had issues on Monday with the traffic flow of students moving to the carpool and bus area. For the parents and families who would like to pick up students in the lobby at the end of the day, we ask that you wait in the lobby for your child instead of the hallway near the cafeteria. This area needs to remain open for students to move to the carpool and bus area. We also ask that parents use the front door to come into the building to pick up walkers and not use the door at the carpool and bus area. Again the congestion is difficult for our students to manage. We appreciate your assistance.
Buses
During the first 2 weeks of school WCPSS Transportation suggests that students arrive at their assigned stops approximately 20 minutes early. The route times will be more firmly set once all the routes are established.
Have You Moved?
Dear Families:
If you moved during the summer (or during the last school year)and need to bring in a proof of residence (current lease or utility bill/electric, water, or gas),please bring one to the office as soon as possible. In addition to the proof of residence there is a new form that is required when there’s an address change.Thank you ~Emily Spooney, Data Manager~
Lunch with Students
In order for the cafeteria guidelines to be put in place and to give all students time to learn their class procedures, we ask that you wait until September 12th to come have lunch with your child. Please share this information with grandparents and other family members who might want to join your child for lunch. Thank you.
BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR VOLUNTEERS
If you have not already done so, please stop by the main office and take a few minutes to do your background check for this school year. There is a laptop available in the main lobby throughout the school day for your use. You must update your information each year. You need to be cleared as a volunteer in order to work in the classroom or attend a field trip with your child’s class. Any questions, please contact Tish Hamilton at 919-881-4920.
