Framlingham Flower Club Newsletter July 2017

Good afternoon and welcome to Flower Club, and a special welcome to our guests today.

Next Tuesday is our visit to Thurston's Farm, for tea and cake and a chance to chat in the lovely gardens. It's not too late to put your name down, and any outstanding payments should be paid today please. We intend to have a plant stall, so please bring any plants you wish to donate for sale. This month's Flower Arranger magazine features some of the arrangements done there last year...... some by members of the club! They should be very proud of themselves.

And speaking of the magazine...... orders and subscriptions are now due...along with next year's diaries, so please see Jennie to put your name down. By buying through the club, you get a reduced rate, and there's always plenty of inspiration to be found within its pages, some from folk we know!

There are various events in our area coming up, as listed below (there are notices on the board, so please look at them for details).

  • Holbrook and district F.C Coral Anniversary Open meeting and lunch. 10th October at The Ipswich Hotel, Copdock, with Angela Turner 'Singalonga.....'. Tickets £22.00
  • East of England Media Team. Monday 18th September 10am-3.30pm at Mildenhall. Learn how to navigate your way round the East of England website. Free
  • East Suffolk Group - Floral Art Competition. 5th October Wickham Market Village Hall, class 1 'Nature's Beauty', class 2 'Tranquil Moments'
  • The Educational Association. Open demonstration on Wednesday 22nd November.

  • Autumn Area Day. Saturday 14th October at Isleham Community Centre, Cambs. Annette Urqhurt demo 'In my Mary Poppins Bag' and Susan Horne, national speaker 'A Bird's Eye View'. Tickets £25.00 including lunch.

Please don't groan, but as a committee we're already thinking about Xmas! As our main fund raising event of the year, we will be looking for a lot more support this time. Further details on how you can get involved by the next meeting in September....you have been warned!

We hope to see you next week at Thurston's, but if not, enjoy the rest of the summer and we look forward to seeing you all again in September.

We're very pleased to welcome Adele Kent with her demonstration entitled 'Top Hat and Tales'. Hope you've got your raffle tickets! Sit back and enjoy!
