The 8th National Grandparents pilgrimage to Our Lady's shrine at Knock takes place on Sunday 14th September. A study course on the Catechism of the Catholic Church will be held in the Monastery, Castlebar, (near the Holy Rosary Church) on Wednesday evenings. An introductory talk on the course will be given on Wed. 17th September at 7.30 pm. The course is free; notes and books are the only cost. The course will begin with the Ten Commandments. If you wish to know more about and deepen your Catholic faith please come along.

Suicide Awareness Week Anne Lynch the Central Manager with Console in County Mayo will be in Tourmakeady Hall on Thursday 4th September at 8pm There will be an open forum and Anne will talk about the help and services that are provided by Console. The evening is open to everyone – families, individuals and young people. All are most welcome. Do come along and find out more about the help, information and support that Console provides.

Litter Action League 2014 We have received the results for the month of July for the Litter Action League. In total there was 33 pieces of litter found on the morning of inspection, thankfully this is an improvement on last months report, litter consisted of sweet wrappers, bottles, caps and plastic wrappers. The following are the areas in question - from the speed limit at Coláiste Muire to the Health Centre, from O’Toole's to the speed limit on the Gortfree Rd and from Tourmakeady Woods to the Cemetery.
We are asking for your help once again to keep the area free from litter, and keep Tourmakeady tidy. Go raibh maith agaibh.
