Location: Montezuma County Fairgrounds, 30100 HWY 160, Cortez, CO.
Cost: $15 per contestant includes: entry fee, lunch, and All-State Fund.
Contestants: Each county or school may enter as many 4-H or FFA teams or individuals as they choose. A team consists of 4 individuals where the top three scores will count toward team placing. All team members are eligible for individual awards. Please complete the enclosed registration form along with names of team members and individuals. Phone, fax, and e-mail entries accepted. Registration deadline: March 10, 2014
Senior division will be all individuals who are older than 14 as of Jan 1, 2014
Junior division will be all individuals who are younger than 14 as of Jan 1, 2014
Registration Friday, March 14, from 8:00 to 9:00 am., Exhibit hall- Second Floor, Montezuma County Fairgrounds
Teams that are pre-registered will be sent an admission pass for team and two coaches. Additional chaperones who are not volunteering to assist with contest will need to pay the daily admission at the Expo ($5.00 and children under 16 are free).
Schedule: 3/14- Friday 8:00 - 8:30 a.m. Registration and Card Pickup
8:30 – 9:00 am Final instructions
9:00 a.m. Contest Begins in Main arena (All classes are outside; Dress appropriately)
10 classes at 15 minutes per class
5 - 6 cattle, 2 - 3 sheep, 2 hog, 1 goat
Senior Reasons-4 sets; Juniors- 3 sets (one per specie)
11:30 p.m. Assemble for Lunch and Reasons in Exhibit Hall- Second Floor
2:30 p.m. Critique and Awards following reasons
Livestock will be available after contest (weather permitting)
Awards will be given to both Junior and Senior Divisions as follows:
Individual: Awards:
Top 10 Overall Belt buckle to High individual; Ribbons to remaining
Top 5 in each specie Embroidered bags to High individual; Ribbons to remaining
Top 5 in Reasons Boots/Belt buckle to High Individual; Ribbons to remaining
Team:
Top 2 Overall Carhartt Sweatshirts to High team
Top 2 in each Specie Rosettes and Ribbons
Top 2 in Reasons Rosettes and Ribbons
Results: Each county will receive one copy of the results.
