Fostering good team communication and strategies
Team D has provided effective strategies for fostering good team communication. Team D uses communication to accomplish team assignments together. Team D has set some ground rules for communication and by setting ground rules regarding communication will help the team be effective in team assignments.Team D is using the team D forum to communicate.All team members have filled in information about their phone numbers and emails on the team charter. Having this information can be useful for the team’s communication in case a team member cannot be contacted through the forum.
Using daily check in with the team allows for team members to communicate with each other. Members of the team are in different time zones, so setting an exact meeting time to communicate is not feasible. Members of the team are to check the forum for issues that may have come about during the day.The issues could include a team member not being able to finish their assignment on time, or a team member may have a question they want other team members to help with. Daily check in ensures that everyone is aware of how team members are coming along with their portion of the assignment.
One person on the team will take the leadership role and post the possible division of the assignments. Communications could be status of projects, time frames for completed assignments, or to discuss assignments.The team leader will communicate with all team members to make sure they understand which portions of the assignments they are to do along with understanding what the assignment entails. If a team member cannot check in daily they should communicate with the team leader and notify them of their status.
Team D will communicate with each other regarding the completed team assignment. The team will collaborate to determine if changes within the assignment need to be done or if something is missing that needs to be included. Feedback among team members helps to insure quality work. Reviewing other team member’s work is necessary to make sure the team agrees and is satisfied with the assignment when the assignment is turned in.
Team D will use communication to resolve conflict issues.The team will discuss the issues in a respectable manner. Team members will communicate opening and honestly with each other, all members will need to keep an open mind and understand that not everyone thinks in the same way. Everyone is encouraged to express his or her thoughts and ideas with other team members, all team members come from different backgrounds and each member can contribute his or her own expertise on the assignments. Discussions may arise that involve disagreements with other team members regarding assignments; each team member should openly discuss the disagreement and come to an agreement without disrespecting others.
Team communication is the most important aspects of completing assignments on time and ensuring success of the team. Team members need to understand the processes that go along with the assignment and to do this communication is necessary.
