Following the receipt of two applications the Council is in the process of making Modification Orders to add the following rights of way to the Definitive map;

·  Four public footpaths on open space land at Burnham Avenue, Lemington

·  One public footpath on Council land at Lansdowne Terrace East, Gosforth

The Order made under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980 to extinguish 2 public footpaths which received objections is in the process of being sent to the Secretary of State for confirmation.

Dedication

Public Bridleway at Havannah Nature Reserve

The process of dedicating land for use as a public bridleway linking Coach Lane, Hazlerigg with the existing public bridleway that runs through Havannah Nature Reserve has begun. It is expected that a decision will be made within the next two months.

Maintenance

Stamfordham Road

Tree pruning has been ordered to open up the sight lines for users of the Bridleway running from North Walbottle Road. This should make it easier/safer to cross the road at Stamfordham Road and continue on the bridleway in a northerly direction towards Whorlton Schoolhouse.

Pothole repairs have been ordered to a number of locations following damage caused as a result of the weather conditions earlier in the year.
