Bruce Jenkins
+ Gilbert + KK’s Protege / Re: Zambezi :-
Status:
Kabwe Kabwe and Gilbert Mubanga, Kelly Chola, organising
Decision taken to enlist a Zambian protégé of Kabwe Kabwe as an Associate.
Plan is for Bruce to fly out alone; be met at the airport; driven into town; and put straight on the Ndola coach. Kabwe will pick him up at the coach park in Ndola and they will drive with the Associate to Zambezi via an overnight stop on the way. 100 men are expected. The programme allows for Kabwe to have much more sway in the important areas of the training programme with Kabwe's protege being given a test run on something like a character study.
Re: Kasempa:-
Status:
Gilbert Mubanga, Kelly Chola, organising. At the end of the week Kabwe is driving Bruce to Kasempa (100 men again expected*) where they will meet up with Gilbert Mubanga who will take part in the training as he is valued most for his interpersonal skills with the men. Not taking out a British associate is considered part of the countdown to an exit strategy involving a handover or, more realistically, a joint venture between PTI / Kabwata Baptist / Lusaka Baptist.
The aim is forKabwe to drive out before the Kasempa conference starts and Bruce and Gilbert will bus out at the end of the week to Ndola with Bruce carrying on to Lusaka by coach and staying there till the followin Thursday visiting his niece’s work in the interim. This is the first occasion that we are taking a small second hand lap top out for the organiser,s use asbrother Kelly Chola (a small, market trader who leaves his wife to run the stall as he goes off into the back of beyond to prepare for the conferences)has shown himself to be a selfless and brilliant conference organiser. The computer will remain the property of PTI.
* An extra-ordinary thing happened last year - see my just forwarded email from Peter Seccombe. Wonderful!

Or , more probably Philip Eveson & ? / Status:
c/o Macdouglas Ampadu There are 4 areas requesting conferences - the Kade area in the Eastern Region, Ho in the Volta Region, Sunyani, in the Brong Ahafo Region and Pastor Elijah from Lawra in the Upper West Region (just the other side of the border from Gaoua in Burkina Faso) has also requested conferences. Although Steve Curry is willing to take up this work again and would then, most likely, again take along Ivan Watson, Ken Brownell believes that Steve is extremely busy and only just recovered from illness and we really need a Ghana man to organise this conference.
Simon Percy will speak to Philip Eveson about two September conferences.
Prayer Point:
The right Country Leader would emerge to lead this strategic work. / 10.03.13
South Sudan & Kenya / 2014? / Min Brd. has granted permission for Simon to attend the conference in Kenya later this year and also explore the possibilities of a conference in South Sudan for 2015.
- Reconnaissance / 1 / c/o Josias Senogo from W. Kenya + local S.Sudan Bishop? via John Benton / Status:
Last year David Ide and Chris ES met with John Benton, the pastor of Chertsey Street Baptist church, and a Kenyan pastor called Josiah to discuss the possibilities of holding a PTI conference in South Sudan. John Benton rang Simon Percy in January asking if I would be willing to go to teach at a conference in Kenya that Josiah organizers. This would give Josiah an opportunity to experience a PTI conference and Simon would, god willing, combined the visit with the opportunity to explore the possibility of doing a PTI conference in South Sudan. Chertsey Street would be willing to pay the cost of the Kenya part of the visit. Simon has a number of contacts in South Sudan. SP thinks Philip Eveson might also be suitable for South Sudan.

The Bassa Region is within the compass of Mission Africa who first invited us to take a conference here. It remains dangerous but a key region to win for the Gospel. Executive has placed an embargo until anti kidnap training has been undertaken by nominated Trainers and any joint venture unlikely until after the completion of the current Gaoua training cycle.
