Dates: Saturday 23 – Friday 29 August 2008

Suggested arrival time is between 10 am and 1 pm on Saturday 23 August. Suggested departure time is after 4 pm on Friday 29 August.

On arrival, teams will be met at Adelaide Airport and transported by bus to team accommodation/Marion or team buses can be picked up from the airport. Team Officials not staying with their team will then be transported to their accommodation/Marion if required.

Please advise arrival and departure dates and times on the attached Travel Arrangements form by FRIDAY 27 JUNE.

Billeting: Billeting is not offered by Secondary School Sport SA

Team Accommodation:

We recommend that teams stay on the Western side of Adelaide. It is also an easy run into the Centre and there is easy access to food outlets, restaurants and entertainment in Henley Beach, West Beach and Glenelg areas

Official Accommodation:

Accommodation for officials not staying with their team will be arranged as required. This is likely to be at the Haven Inn at Glenelg. Approximate cost is $135 per twin share

Official Transport: If required team officials will be picked up and dropped back at the beginning and end of the day.

Levies: Base Team Levy: $864.50 per team

National Secretary levy $11 per player

Part of one of the rounds will be held at Mt Lofty Sports Centre on the Wednesday evening. Teams will play in the morning at Marion then bus to the AMF Bowling at Cross Roads for a social bowling competition with prizes and awards. There will then be free time.

Following this all teams are asked to bus up to the Mt Lofty Sports Centre and have a meal in the Heathfield High School Restaurant. The teams will eat around their playing schedule times of 6.00pm and 8.00pm.The meal will be buffet style based around soup, pasta and salad with a desert.

Cost will be $25 for meal and bowling. Teams requiring transport will be charged accordingly.

Duties Teams have been given duty times but we are hopeful that the students from Brighton Secondary School and Heathfield High School will be available on most occasions to undertake this role.

Training Sessions: A training session has been scheduled for Saturday 23rd August at the competition venue. Training times will be based around arrival times of teams.

Medical: A qualified Sports Trainer will be in attendance throughout the Championship. Students will need to supply their own strapping tape.

Souvenir Apparel: A souvenir shirt will be available to purchase. A copy of the design and cost will be included in a future Bulletin.

Referees: States/territories are asked to provide an appropriate student referee (minimum qualification - regional level). The Chief Referee is Ray Harris an International/Olympic Referee who has previously undertaken this role. He is a qualified teacher who will provide feedback and support for each of the student referees.

Official Dinner: Details in the next bulletin. It will be held on the evening of Tuesday 26th May.

Meetings: The Pre-Event Meeting will be held on Saturday 23 Aug at approximately 5.00pm (depending on arrival times of teams) at Marion Fitness and Leisure Centre. The Post-Event meeting will be held at Marion Leisure and Fitness Centre after the final game on the Thursday (approx 4.00pm).

Ceremonies: The Opening Ceremony will be held on Sunday 24 August at 9.00am

The Closing Ceremony will be held at the conclusion of play on Friday 29 Aug (approx 2.30pm).
