Dear Parent / Carer

Form bonding excursion Kingswood, Dearne Valley

As part of your child’s placement at Wright Robinson College students are expected to attend an overnight residential trip with the rest of their year group. The purpose of this visit is to bring together the students as a form and as a year group. It is expected for every student in Year 7 to attend to take part in this exciting opportunity.

The visits will take place during the dates of Monday 14th – Tuesday 15th September 2015, and Tuesday 15th – Wednesday 16th September 2015. The year group will be divided into two halves with each half year group staying one night at the Kingswood Dearne Valley site, in Doncaster. The students will effectively have two days in the centre taking part in a range of educational and physical activities.

The current structure of the trip is:

Session 1 (14th / 15th September 2014) forms are A1, B1, B2, B4 C1, C2, C4, D2.

Session 2 (15th / 16th September 2014) forms are A2, A3, A4, B3, C3, D1, D3, D4

Full details of the programme of activities can be found on a PowerPoint on the school website. This trip will be an opportunity for the students to enjoy learning in a different setting, develop their relationships with each other as a year group and to build on relationships with the staff at the College.

This visit takes place during term time however it will be necessary for each student to make a contribution of £50.00 towards the costs of the travel, accommodation, all meals and the activities that are planned.

Payment should be made to Mrs Jones and Mrs Worthington Administration office, first floor lilac zone. It would be appreciated if the full £50.00 could be paid as soon as possible, but if you would prefer to pay by instalments each week that is completely acceptable. All monies and consent slips should however be received before Wednesday 16th July 2014. If, for any reason, you are finding it difficult to make the contribution towards the cost of the visit, please contact Mr Heaton or Mr Fenlon at the College as soon as possible.

Mr Fenlon will be leading this educational visit and will be assisted by members of staff from the College. All staff have a vast amount of experience of taking students on educational visits. The students will not be completing any dangerous activities, the activities which are being participated in, are fully risk assessed and led by Kingswood staff, who are fully qualified and experienced in the activity.

Please ensure the attached consent / reply slip is fully completed in order to help us plan for the visit, even if you are not sending any monies in at this time. Please return this slip no later than Wednesday 16th July 2015.

I am required to point out to you that insurance cover for this visit is limited only to negligence on the part of the college. Parents may of course wish to make their own arrangements for any additional insurance cover for this visit.

May I take this opportunity to thank you in advance for allowing your «SonDaughter» to participate in this exciting visit.

Yours sincerely
