Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council is offering a unique opportunity for suitably experienced individuals, operators or community groups to work alongside us at Jubilee2 for a period of up to three years.
Location
Our fantastic sports and leisure complex is situated right on the ring road in the heart of Newcastle town centre.
Jubilee2 is one of North Staffordshire‘s premier leisure facilities which meets the sports and leisure needs of the borough’s residents.
Our annual footfall totals 450,000 users who use Jubilee2 to access a diverse range of activities.
The café is a central part of Jubilee 2 and is located in the main reception foyer with views of the climbing wall and swimming pools. The café operator will be expected to manage customer demand during opening hours which are 6.30am-10pm Monday to Friday and 8am -8pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Previous operators have generated a gross income of £100,000 per annum, however, these figures have not been audited and prospective providers should make their own assumptions around their business model. The successful licensee will be responsible for business rates and heating costs.

Following the open event, potential providers will be expected to submit a business plan, menu and rental offer for the café (please note that VAT will be payable on rent), along with a completed application form, by no later than 17 October 2016.

1.APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1.1.Applicants should complete the Application Form (pages 4 to 9).

1.2.The completed Application Form should be placed in an envelope and returned to:

1.3.The envelope should be returned no later than the closing date. The closing date is midday on 17th October 2016.

1.4.The Council will consider the applications received by this date and enter into a negotiation with those that are of interest.

2.CONDITIONS OF APPLICATION

2.1.Applications shall arrive no later than midday on 17th October 2016.

2.3.No responsibility will be accepted by the Council for any expenses incurred in preparing and submitting an Application.

2.4.The Council does not bind itself to accept all or any application and reserves the right to negotiate with any party that expresses an interest including late applications.

2.5.The Council accepts no responsibility for any injuries sustained in inspecting the property.

2.6.The Council shall enter into discussions with the parties that are of interest with a view to formalising the delivery of the catering service by means of the granting of a licence. At this point references will be collected and a credit check will be undertaken.

2.7.Should an agreement not be reached within a reasonable timescale (at the Council’s sole discretion) then the Council reserves the right to negotiate with any other parties, including late offers, and any other potentially interested parties.

2.8.None of the matters in this application pack, or in any brochure or advertisement, which may be made, will constitute an agreement or collateral contract with the Council.
